Abstract We examined the between‐person correlations and within‐person reciprocal effects of physical activity, long‐standing health issues, self‐rated health, life satisfaction across four panels using random intercept cross‐lagged panel models. Data were analyzed from Household, Income Labour Dynamics in Australia Survey (HILDA, N = 32,913, 21 waves, 1‐year intervals), German Socio‐Economic Panel (SOEP, 83,844, 14 2‐year Dutch Longitudinal Internet Studies for Social Sciences (LISS, 14,778, 11 United Kingdom Household Study (UKHLS, 50,032, 4 intervals). The analysis first two focused on moderate‐to‐vigorous activity sports participation leisure time, whereas latter intensities (light, moderate, vigorous). Across all panels, its positively correlated with satisfaction. Within‐person analyses revealed primarily positive bidirectional between satisfaction, more pronounced at higher lower intensities. Effects issues less consistent, appearing mainly intervals. Physical had different nature. These results suggest that interventions should be tailored to intensity: Light may enhance effective while better support health. existing further trigger an upward spiral, reinforcing improvements both well‐being.
