Can real-time surveillance systems of suspected suicide accurately reflect national suicide rates? Age-specific and sex-specific findings from the first two years of the COVID-19 pandemic in England: an observational study

Introduction ‘Real-time surveillance’ (RTS) systems of suspected suicide showed no overall rise in the early COVID-19 pandemic several months before official statistics reported same. Examining the relationship between COVID-19 and suicide in media coverage through Natural Language Processing analysis

Suicide is a major public health concern, media can influence its awareness, contagion, and prevention. In this study, we evaluated the relationship between COVID-19 pandemic suicide in coverage through Natural Language Processing analysis (NPL). To study how depicted news media, Artificial Intelligence Big Data techniques were used to analyze tweets, extract or classify topic which they belonged. Characteristics and circumstances of rail suicides in England 2019–2021: A cluster analysis and autopsy study

Predicting negative attitudes towards suicide in social media texts: prediction model development and validation study

Background Implementing machine learning prediction of negative attitudes towards suicide may improve health outcomes. However, in previous studies, varied forms were not adequately considered, and developed models lacked rigorous external validation. By analyzing a large-scale social media dataset (Sina Weibo), this paper aims to fully cover develop classification model for predicting as whole, then externally validate its performance on population individual levels.
