Long COVID presents with diverse symptoms after COVID-19. Different clusters of have been reported; however, their persistence beyond 2 years COVID-19 remains unclear. In this cohort study, we prospectively evaluated individuals previous severe presenting long at a two-year follow-up. We characterized the included patients and performed cluster analysis through multiple correspondence hierarchical clustering. A total 199 were included. The median age was 58 (48-69), 56% male, follow-up time since diagnosis 26 months (IQR: 25, 27). Three symptom identified: Cluster 1 is by fatigue, myalgia/arthralgia, low prevalence symptoms, lack specific symptoms; defined high cardiorespiratory including palpitations, shortness breath, cough, chest pain; 3 demonstrated ageusia, anosmia, symptoms. Our study reinforces concept clustering in COVID, providing evidence that these may persist two diagnosis. This highlights chronic debilitating nature importance developing strategies to mitigate patients.

Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) is associated with a wide range of post-acute sequelae. The prevalence erectile dysfunction (ED) that developed after COVID-19 and the underlying factors were analyzed based on questionnaire survey, Recovery Study II in Japan. A case-control study was conducted those or without ED one two years hospitalized between March September 2021. Six hundred nine Japanese men, median age 48 years, analyzed. During period, 116 subjects (19.0%) had dysfunction. patients responded less subjective awareness recovery high breathless fatigue scores compared to ED. also showed higher Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale-D (depression) EuroQol 5-dimensions 5-level for pain/discomfort anxiety/depression before infection. Sleep disturbance suggested be using an exploratory clustering analysis one-year survey. There no associations severity, reinfection, vaccination frequency, antiviral treatment presence It considered mental support subject as long-COVID symptom warranted.

Long COVID, characterized by persistent symptoms following a SARS-CoV-2 infection, presents significant public health challenge with wide-ranging implications. This comprehensive review explores the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, pathogenesis, risk factors, diagnosis, patient impact, management strategies, and long-term prognosis of COVID. Despite varied symptomatology that spans multiple organ systems, including respiratory, neurological, cardiovascular this condition is primarily associated chronic inflammation potential viral persistence. Prevalence varies, influenced initial infection severity, demographic pre-existing conditions. The emphasizes necessity for healthcare systems to adapt needs long-COVID patients developing standardized diagnostic criteria personalized, multidisciplinary treatment approaches. Current research gaps future directions are identified, highlighting urgent need further studies on pathophysiological mechanisms effective therapeutic interventions. aims inform providers, researchers, policymakers, enhancing care guiding ongoing initiatives. continuing global focus collaborative efforts offer hope improved outcomes those affected long marking an essential step towards addressing emergent comprehensively.

Abstract Background Post-COVID conditions (PCC) are difficult to characterize, diagnose, predict, and treat due overlapping symptoms poorly understood pathology. Identifying inflammatory profiles may improve clinical prognostication trial endpoints. Methods This analysis included 1988 SARS-CoV-2 positive U.S. Military Health System beneficiaries who had quantitative post–COVID symptom scores. Among participants reported moderate-to-severe on surveys collected 6 months post-SARS-CoV-2 infection, principal component followed by k-means clustering identified distinct clusters of symptoms. Results Three symptom-based were identified: a sensory cluster (loss smell and/or taste), fatigue/difficulty thinking cluster, difficulty breathing/exercise intolerance cluster. Individuals within the all outpatients during their initial COVID-19 presentation. The breathing higher likelihood obesity hospitalization than those with no/mild at post-infection. Multinomial regression linked early post-infection D-dimer IL-1RA elevation elevated ICAM-1 concentrations Conclusions We three PCC phenotypes specific risk factors predictors. With further validation characterization, this framework allow more precise classification cases potentially diagnosis, prognostication, treatment PCC.
