Glutathione (GSH) has several roles in a cell, such as reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenger, an intervenient xenobiotics metabolism and reservoir of cysteine. All these activities are important the maintenance normal cells homeostasis but can also constitute advantage for cancer cells, allowing disease progression resistance to therapy. Ovarian is major cause death from gynaecologic second most common malignancy worldwide. In over 50 years, overall survival patients diagnosed with epithelial ovarian not changed, regardless efforts concerning early detection, radical surgery new therapeutic approaches. Late diagnosis therapy main causes this outcome, GSH profoundly associated chemoresistance platinum salts, which, together taxane-based chemotherapy surgery, strategies treatment. Herein, we present some insights into role poor prognosis cancer, point out how underlying dependence on be further used improve effectiveness

Over the last several decades, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) has been found to exert multiple physiological functions in mammal systems. The endogenous production of H2S is primarily mediated by cystathione β-synthase (CBS), γ-lyase (CSE), and 3-mercaptopyruvate sulfurtransferase (3-MST). These enzymes are widely expressed liver tissues regulate hepatic acting on various molecular targets. In present review, we will highlight recent advancements cellular events triggered under diseases. therapeutic effects donors diseases also be discussed. As a critical regulator functions, critically involved etiology disorders, such as nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), fibrosis, ischemia/reperfusion (IR) injury, cancer. Targeting H2S-producing may promising strategy for managing disorders.

Advances in nanotechnology have enabled the rapid development of stimuli-responsive therapeutic nanomaterials for precision gas therapy. Hydrogen sulfide (H2 S) is a significant gaseous signaling molecule with intrinsic biochemical properties, which exerts its various physiological effects under both normal and pathological conditions. Various H2 S-responsive as new-generation agents, are explored to guide behaviors biological milieu. The cross disciplinary S an emerging scientific hotspot that studies chemical mechanisms, S. This review summarizes state-of-art research on S-related nanomedicines. In particular, recent advances therapeutics cancer, such S-mediated therapy synergistic therapies (combined chemotherapy, photodynamic therapy, photothermal chemodynamic therapy) highlighted. Versatile imaging techniques real-time monitoring during diagnosis reviewed. Finally, biosafety issues, current challenges, potential possibilities evolution S-based facilitate clinical translation patients discussed.

Thiosulfate in the form of sodium thiosulfate (STS) is a major oxidation product hydrogen sulfide (H2S), an endogenous signaling molecule and third member gasotransmitter family. STS currently used clinical treatment acute cyanide poisoning, cisplatin toxicities cancer therapy, calciphylaxis dialysis patients. Burgeoning evidence show that has antioxidant anti-inflammatory properties, making it potential therapeutic candidate can target multiple molecular pathways various diseases drug-induced toxicities. This review discusses biochemical generation from H2S, its usefulness, applications, as well mechanisms underlying these applications future perspective kidney transplantation.
