Leveraging L1 Folklore: Enhancing Fictional Narrative Writing with Metacognitive Strategies in Blended Learning Environments

This
study
investigates
the
efficacy
of
integrating
metacognitive
strategies
and
L1
folklore
in
enhancing
English
as
a
Foreign
Language
(EFL)
fictional
narrative
writing
within
blended
learning
framework.
Conducted
across
40
Indonesian
university
students,
quasi-experimental
design
employed
pre
post-tests
to
measure
improvements.
Metacognitive
techniques
(planning,
drafting,
peer
review,
self-reflection,
revising)
dimension
assessments
(voice,
characterisation,
mood,
language,
dialogue,
story,
setting,
image,
plot)
were
applied.
A
significantly
higher
rate
EFL
skill
development
was
observed
following
intervention,
with
55%
students
reaching
very
good
level
42.5%
getting
an
excellent
level.
highlights
effectiveness
managing
time
constraints
leveraging
enrich
writing.
The
findings
suggest
potential
long-term
benefits
emphasise
need
for
tailored
consistent
cultural
contexts.
Recommendations
include
targeted
exercises,
personalised
approaches,
collaboration,
sustained
exposure
optimise
skills.
In
conclusion,
elements
enhances
education,
offering
approach
academic
success,
particularly
considering
needs
environments.

Pandemic
Covid-19
forced
education
sector
to
have
no
more
face-to-face
classes
since
2020.
Unluckily,
students
from
drama
longer
performed
on
the
stage
even
though
they
well-prepared
for
performance.
This
article
highlighted
four
main
problems:
1)
How
creative
were
in
writing
script
virtual
performance?
2)
What
innovative
processes
created
by
3)
problem
faced
and
performing
4)
lecturers’
role
To
answer
these
questions,
study
employed
online
observation,
interview,
documentation
dig
up
research
questions.
The
result
of
showed
that
using
documented-limited
writing,
most
able
creating
collaboratively
utilized
Zoom
platform
Canva
application
through
preliminary
investigation,
detailed
development,
testing
validation,
full
production
processes.
As
a
whole,
during
process
performance
it
could
make
teaching
learning
are
worthwhile
because
lecturers
had
collaborated
very
well.

This
study
investigates
the
use
of
CapCut,
a
digital
media
application,
to
enhance
creative
writing
skills
EFL
students.
It
addresses
common
challenges
faced
by
students,
such
as
difficulty
in
expressing
ideas,
lack
confidence,
limited
vocabulary,
and
low
motivation
writing.
By
integrating
CapCut
into
learning
process,
aims
create
an
engaging
pressure-free
environment
for
students
develop
their
skills.
Using
descriptive
qualitative
approach,
data
was
collected
through
observations,
structured
interviews,
narrative
analysis
from
15
high
school
The
findings
indicate
that
significantly
improves
students'
productivity
creativity
writing,
evidenced
increased
number
words
quality
paragraphs
produced.
Students
reported
positive
experience,
feeling
more
motivated
confident
abilities.

çeşitli
çalışmaları
yaptıklarını
belirtmişlerdir.

değerlendirirken

anahtarını

imla

noktalama
