Having a large number of device connections provides attackers with multiple ways to attack network. This situation can lead distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, which cause fiscal harm and corrupt data. Thus, irregularity detection in traffic data is crucial detecting malicious behavior network, essential for network security the integrity modern Cyber–Physical Systems (CPS). Nevertheless, studies have shown that current techniques are ineffective at DDoS attacks on networks, especially case high-speed networks (HSN), as latter very complex due their fast packet processing. review aims study compare different approaches using machine learning (ML) such k-means, K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Naive Bayes (NB) used intrusion systems (IDSs) flow-based IDSs, expresses paths filtering HSN performance. highlights accuracy evaluation factors, detailed taxonomy, classifies techniques. Moreover, existing literature inspected through qualitative analysis, respect factors extracted from presented taxonomy irregular pattern detection. Different research directions suggested support researchers identifying designing optimal solution by highlighting issues challenges networks.
