Cancer survivors are encouraged to maintain a healthy diet and engage in regular exercise improve overall physical psychosocial health, reduce the likelihood of cancer recurrence related mortality. Consequently, nutrition (the structured component activity) knowledge, attitude, practice (NE-KAP) frequently evaluated research studies involving associated with various health outcomes. The aims this scoping review were (1) systematically map types NE-KAP assessment questionnaires used survivorship (i.e., trend or use over past five years), (2) provide directory questionnaires, (3) identify most reported outcomes that have been them. A systematic search was conducted across four databases—Medline, Emcare, CINAHL, Scopus—from 1 January 2019 9 May 2024, for addressing one more aspects (e.g., food frequency questionnaire practice, attitude towards scale attitude). Eligible extracted, assessed, reviewed by two independent authors, data summarized descriptively. Of initial 5452 records screened, 1122 articles screened full text, 852 deemed eligible, 262 included. There an increasing from 2023. 200 unique aligning at least domain, 45 untitled created/adapted specifically their respective studies, limited information about psychometric properties. Out included utilized those measuring activity practices, such as study-specific (n = 26, 10%) Godin–Shephard Leisure–Time Physical Activity 52, 20%). had (nutrition, n 23; exercise, 40), health-related quality life commonly 12, 53%) 9, 23%), cross-sectional 13; 23). An emphasis placed on assessing attention knowledge domains. Psychometric evaluation also lacking.

The COVID-19 pandemic involved business closures (e.g., gyms), social distancing policies, and prolonged stressful situations that may have impacted engagement in health behaviors. Our study assessed changes cancer-related behaviors during the pandemic, specifically physical activity, fruit/vegetable intake, smoking/tobacco use, alcohol consumption. Eight cancer centers administered mailed/web-based/telephone surveys between June 2020 March 2021. Surveys demographics, perceptions on distancing, self-reported of (less/same/more) associated with prevention or risk, e.g., tobacco/smoking Descriptive analyses logistic regression models association variables behavior change. Most 21,911 respondents reported adhering to at least 4(of 5) measures (72%) indicated was very/somewhat important prevent spread (91%). 35% less 11% 27% more use (among those who used products past 30 days), 23% consumption 1 drink days) than before pandemic. Urban residence, younger age, female gender, worse general were intake. Higher educational attainment activity intake Reporting as safety practices findings suggest certain demographics adhered likely self-report unfavorable Future studies should examine if returned baseline following relief from restrictions, these are increased incidence mortality.

Abstract Purpose This qualitative study assessed internet access and use, barriers facilitators to participating in digital health interventions or programs, the engagement experience virtual versus in‐person among rural adults cancer survivors. Methods Rural ( n = 10) survivors were recruited from previous studies participate an in‐depth interview. The interview guide contained eight open‐ended questions related participation technology‐based programs. Interviews recorded transcribed, transcripts analyzed for emergent themes using a thematic content analysis approach. Findings younger M age 37.9 ± 11.8 years), more likely be non‐Hispanic Black (90.0%), reported higher educational attainment (50.0% earned master's doctoral degree) compared with 63.0 9.1 years, 70.0% White, 20.0% degree). Participants discussed performance effort expectancies technologies programs cited positive negative aspects of platforms. emphasized need social connections missed opportunities current offerings along factors that influence their use (e.g., prior experience, tech anxiety). Conclusions this provide understanding intricate experiences when engaging technologies. Integrating may aid developing clinical community‐based policies support increasing services communities.

Abstract Health behaviors such as fruit and vegetable intake (FVI), moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), sleep duration are associated with cancer-related general health outcomes. This analysis examined to what degree FVI, MVPA, co-occur among cancer survivors informal caregivers identified sociodemographic clinical correlates of behavior engagement. Using data from the Information National Trends Survey (HINTS), an exploratory latent profile (LPA) was conducted a nationally representative sample those self-reporting history or identifying caregiver. The LPA model fit continuous variables for daily self-reported FVI (servings/d), MPVA (minutes/d) (hours/d). Multinomial logistic regression models were used predict membership based on current age, education, relationship status, income, rurality, body mass index (BMI), other behaviors, role (survivor caregiver). Four profiles (Least Engaged–Sedentary, Least Engaged–Inactive, Moderately Engaged, Highly Engaged). largest Least-Engaged Sedentary, capturing 37% sample. Profiles most distinguished by MVPA lowest variance in duration. significantly alcohol use, self-efficacy, psychological distress, BMI, type. study that, sample, who reported more also often greater longer can help identify whom interventions may be greatest benefit.
