The association between the recently updated cardiovascular health (CVH) assessment algorithm, Life's Essential 8 (LE8), and all-cause mortality among adults with depression remains unknown. From National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) spanning 2005–2018, a cohort of 2,935 individuals diagnosed was identified. Their CVH evaluated through LE8 score system. investigation status utilized connections Death Index up to December 31, 2019. To assess impact on risk, Kaplan-Meier survival analysis Cox proportional hazards models, adjusting for variables related demographics socioeconomic status, were applied. Among participants, those higher levels had significantly lower compared levels. regression analyses demonstrated that each 1-point increase in associated risk [HR = 0.97, 95%CI:0.96–0.98]. inverse persisted across different demographic subgroups. Higher depression. These findings underscore importance comprehensive management as part healthcare strategies people depression, suggesting improving may contribute longer life expectancy this vulnerable population.

Importance The American Heart Association proposed Life’s Essential 8 (LE8) as an enhanced measurement tool for cardiovascular health. Objective To examine the association of LE8 with risk atherosclerotic disease (ASCVD) incidence and prognosis in veterans. Design, Setting, Participants This was a prospective cohort study US veterans enrolled Department Veterans Affairs (VA) Million Veteran Program (MVP) between 2011 2022. Data were analyzed from 2023 to 2024. Exposure score ranged 0 100, higher indicating better Main Outcomes Measures primary outcome total ASCVD without baseline ASCVD, secondary major adverse event (MACE) among at baseline. Results A 413 052 (mean [SD] age, 65.8 [12.1] years; 378 162 [91.6%] male) included. Based on 1.7 million person-years follow-up 279 868 any baseline, 45 067 had during follow-up. Total each component factor associated incident inverse, linear, dose-response manner. For prior those 80 100 lower compared 49 (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR], 0.36 [95% CI, 0.35-0.38]). Similarly, MACE significantly regardless status (with ASCVD: aHR, 0.52 0.48-0.56]; 0.14 0.13-0.15]) 49. Conclusions Relevance In this veterans, scores likelihood developing events These results support utility health promotion prevention.

Vascular complications are the leading causes of reduced life quality and mortality in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Life's Essential 8 (LE8) is a newly modified measurement cardiovascular health (CVH) by American Heart Association (AHA). Promoting CVH has been previously shown to improve prognosis T2DM. However, studies regarding effects LE8 on diabetic retinopathy (DR), major microvascular complication, death from overall T2DM currently lacking. This study aimed investigate these associations thus providing preliminary evidence.

Background Life’s essential’ 8 (LE8) is a newly updated cardiovascular health (CVH) metrics from the American Heart Association, with close relevance to metabolism. Our objective explore association between LE8 scores and incidence of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) advanced fibrosis in adults. Methods This population-based cross-sectional study utilized data National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted 2005 2018, encompassing adults aged 20 years or older. Validated non-invasive scoring systems were employed define steatosis fibrosis. Multivariable logistic regression smooth curve fitting techniques applied evaluate associations. All analyses adjusted for survey’ complex design parameters accounted sample weights. Results A total 11,820 participants included. higher score was found be inversely associated MAFLD fibrosis, odds ratios (OR) 0.64 (95% CI: 0.57–0.71) 0.75 0.61–0.92) per 1 standard deviation (SD) increase score. Similar patterns relationship behaviors/factors In subgroup analyses, interaction test showed that age, education level, marital status, CVD, hypertension diabetes had significant impact on (all P < 0.05). Among male, elderly, wealthy, other race, depression participants, correlation not statistically ( > Younger exhibited more pronounced negative CVH metric both life Conclusion its subscales presence non-linear patterns. Optimal may significantly reduce risk

Life's Essential 8 (LE8) score, developed by the American Heart Association, assesses cardiovascular health using eight components: diet, physical activity, nicotine exposure, sleep health, body mass index, lipids, blood glucose, and pressure. Liver function is a critical indicator of overall with impairments linked to numerous chronic diseases. While LE8 score has been extensively studied in relation outcomes, its association liver remains underexplored. Understanding this relationship crucial for integrating hepatic management, particularly given shared metabolic pathways underlying these systems. This study aims examine between scores indicators large cohort, addressing gap understanding interplay health. Data from 2007-2018 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) were used cross-sectional study. The included 21,873 participants, stratified into low (0-49), moderate (50-79), high (80-100) categories. markers, including alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), ALT/AST ratio, was evaluated multivariable linear regression, smoothed curve fitting, threshold effect analysis, weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression. Subgroup analyses performed based on sex age assess potential interactions. Higher significantly associated improved function, highlighted two major findings. First, nonlinear associations observed parameters, ALT stronger effects beyond specific thresholds (ALT: 50.625, ALT/AST: 61.875). Second, subgroup revealed that more pronounced younger participants (<60 years), suggesting age-specific differences relationship. These age-related might be attributed variations or severity liver-related risk factors older individuals. WQS regression identified pressure, exposure as strongest contributors markers. findings underscore comprehensive populations. suggests function. Clinicians public practitioners could consider routine assessments help identify individuals at dysfunction, among Further research should explore whether interventions targeting also improve outcomes.
