Healthcare professionals' perceptions of system preparedness during public health emergencies: a path analysis of mental health impacts

Background
The
easing
of
COVID-19
policies
in
China
appears
to
have
been
inadequately
prepared,
leading
a
profound
shift
the
mental
wellbeing
healthcare
professionals
following
lifting
these
measures.
Our
study
aims
investigate
pathways
underlying
negative
emotions
experienced
by
due
perceived
inadequate
system
preparedness,
aiming
enhance
their
health
protection
and
facilitate
more
effective
responses
during
future
large-scale
public
crises.
Methods
A
total
826
were
enrolled.
Depression
symptoms,
anxiety

resilience,

Background
Various
psychological
theories
suggest
that
a
supportive
family
environment
protects
the
mental
health
of
young
adults
during
stressful
life
events.

evidence
is
limited
regarding
protective
role

major
public
crisis.
Objective
To
examine
functioning
on

Chinese
college
students

stage
COVID-19
pandemic.
Methods

January–March
2020,

universities
participated.

Psychological
Questionnaires

fewer
symptoms.

identified
three
profiles
related
to
severity
across
symptoms:
Low-level,
medium-level
high-level
symptom
clusters.
Latent
profile
analysis
showed
as

more
likely
be
in
low-level
group,
compared
being
medium
group
or
group.

Abstract
Background
Mental
health
symptoms
among
healthcare
professionals
(HCP)
in
intensive
care
units
(ICUs)
are
a
significant
concern
affecting
both
HCP
well-being
and
patient
outcomes.
Cross-sectional
studies
members
of
the
European
Society
Intensive
Care
Medicine
(ESICM)
report
up
to
50%
burnout
rates.
Determinants
include
communication,
team
cohesion,
psychological
support,
promotion.
We
designed
'Hello
Bundle'
intervention
mitigate
ICU-HCPs
by
fostering
positive
social
interactions
supportive
work
environment.
This
justification
synthesizes
evidence
from
psychology,
communication
research
support
intervention.
