Objective To summarise policy implications of key findings from the 2020-22 Australian National Study Mental Health and Wellbeing (NSMHWB).Methods: Analysis four papers in this issue journal NSMHWB (N=15,893) 2007 (N=8,841). Results: The 2020-2022 reported a lifetime prevalence rate common mental disorders 40.2%, (95% CI=39.2-41.3) 12-month 20.2% CI 19.5-21.0). Overall, adult Australians were significantly more likely to experience disorder compared 2007, with change most striking among those aged 16-24 years (OR 1.2, 95%CI 1.1-1.3). Individuals anxiety 2.9, 95% CI= 2.3-3.7, depressive 2.8 2.1-3.9), or comorbidity (RR=1.4, CI=1.2-1.7) 2007. In 2020-22, proportion who had experienced suicidal ideation, suicide plans attempts past 12 months 3.3%, 1.1% 0.3%. Under half (46.5% 44.1-48.8) adults sought treatment. Conclusions: remain an endemic feature Australia’s overall health landscape appear be increasing, especially younger cohorts. While service use rates have improved over time, there is still some way go. Epidemiological surveys such as are important for understanding changing population not accessing services. Innovative prevention treatment strategies will needed address increasing adults. Equally innovative bold responses essential.
