ABSTRACT Traumatic death is a risk factor for prolonged grief. Network analysis offers perspective understanding traumatic bereavement at symptom interaction level. This study estimates regularized partial correlation grief networks due to earthquake ( n = 818) and illness 237), using symptoms from the Inventory of Complicated Grief (ICG) as nodes. Difficulty in accepting loneliness were highly central nodes both networks. Trust difficulties longing deceased exhibited high centrality earthquake‐bereaved sample but not illness‐bereaved sample. The network was characterized by connectivity diversity symptoms. These results provide insights into severity after loss. Although promoting integration reality loss alleviating important, it might also be worth considering role post‐loss interpersonal trust distress associated with bereavement.

The Grief Impairment Scale (GIS) is used to measure functional impairment due grief following the death of a loved one. However, there no information on its cross-cultural utility. Thus, this study assessed measurement invariance GIS using large sample bereaved adults ( N = 2060) from Peru, El Salvador, Ecuador, and Colombia. Specifically, we employed two techniques: multi-group confirmatory factor analysis (MG-CFA) alignment optimization method. results indicated that demonstrated configural metric invariance, but not scalar through MG-CFA. method presence an approximate invariance. Therefore, suggest measures grief-related similarly across four Latin American countries. Among countries examined, Peru reported highest average score had percentage cases at risk for clinically relevant (6.2%). These findings support validity lay foundation future comparisons.
