For decades, the European Union (EU) has been addressing issues related to climate change and ecological degradation as a self-proclaimed pro-environmental human rights-oriented actor. Correspondingly, topic of environmentally driven migration entered EU discourse at dawn new millennium. As such, environmental migrants around world find themselves in an existential crisis are need support whether it comes questions compensations, relocation, protection cultural heritage etc. Thus, considering EU's interest rights environmental/climate issue areas, I argue is important ask what Union's approach this matter been. Consequently, article assesses over twenty-year period. Through theoretical lens Copenhagen School Security Studies normative power conception, paper critically analyzes securitization relation who experiencing threat their lives.
