Despite recent studies establishing self-compassion and secure attachment to be vital protective factors against suicidality, the role of as a psychological mechanism that may mediate relationship between suicidality has not been investigated date. This study aims address this gap by investigating whether styles, specifically avoidant attachment, link in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). 273 adult MDD completed Suicidal Behaviors Questionnaire-Revised (SBQ-R), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II), Experiences Close Relationships Scale (ECRS), Self-Compassion (SCS) along sociodemographic clinical questions. Statistical analyses included correlation analysis Mann- Whitney U tests examine relationships possible differences non-suicidal group suicidal terms style, self-compassion, self-destructive behaviors. A mediation assess avoidance selfcompassion was also conducted. Both anxiety were positively associated depression negatively self-compassion. The increased differed significantly levels depression, compared those who non-suicidal. mediated avoidance.
