The combined effects of goal attributes, motivational beliefs, creativity and grit on self-regulation in online ill-structured problem solving: a fsQCA approach

Self-regulated
learning
(SRL)
has
been
regarded
as
one
of
the
indispensable
factors
affecting
students'
academic
success
in
online
environments.
However,
current
understanding
mechanism/causes
SRL
ill-structured
problem-solving
remains
insufficient.
This
study,
therefore,
examines
configural
causal
effects
goal
attributes,
motivational
beliefs,
creativity,
and
grit
on
self-regulated
learning.
With
fuzzy
sets
approach
(fsQCA),
proposed
association
was
analyzed
based
a
sample
students
(n
=
88)
participating
an
educational
design
competition
activity.
The
results
uniquely
revealed
predictive
at
both
high
low
levels.
In
addition,
it
found
that
no
single
condition
leads
to
prediction
or
self-regulation.
More
specifically,
different
conditions
factors,
terms
gender,
attributes
(goal
setting
achievement
goals),
grit,
task
value,
self-efficacy,
can
largely
predict
during
context
Implications
for
theory
policy
prescriptions
were
discussed
enhance
problem-solving.

Abstract
Background
Recent
years
have
witnessed
a
revolutionary
transformation
in
information
technology,
characterized
by
the
proliferation
of
electronic
platforms,
with
Egyptian
Knowledge
Bank
being
notable
example.
Understanding
how
to
effectively
navigate
these
complex
systems
requires
investigation
into
key
factors,
particularly
system
intelligence.
Objectives
This
study
aimed
examine
mediating
role
research
motivation
relationship
between
intelligence,
Academic
Grit,
and
Achievement.
Method
Using
correlational
design,
surveyed
600
post-graduate
students
aged
25–55
(M
=
33.22,
SD
8.09)
through
online
snowball
sampling.
Data
were
collected
using
Research
Motivation
Scale,
System
Intelligence
Grit
Grade
Point
Average
(GPA).
Statistical
analyses
conducted
IBM
Amos,
Spss
23.
Results
Path
analysis
revealed
that
intelligence
had
an
indirect
effect
on
motivation.
Additionally,
direct
effects
observed
from
motivation,
Conclusions
highlights
as
crucial
mediator
academic
grit,
achievement.

findings
suggest
potential
interventions
enhance
achievement
fostering
grit
development

Abstract:
The
academic
grit
scale
(AGS)
is
a
new
measure
developed
to
assess
the
level
of
adolescents’
in
an
academic-specific
context.
main
purpose
this
study
was
examine
psychometric
properties,
factor
structure,
and
measurement
invariance
AGS
among
Chinese
adolescents.
A
cross-sectional
design
convenient
sampling
were
conducted

adolescents

AGS.
Confirmatory
analysis
(CFA)

original
unidimensional
model
