Purpose Women can play an important part in integrating sustainability into operations and supply chain management. Yet, it is unclear how their broader representation across the organization influences operational practices outcomes. Drawing on social role theory, we theorize empirically examine women impact sustainable terms of resource usage, product responsibility, emissions. We further that firms with a greater proportion are more averse to unsustainable behavior thus respond urgency improve performance when underperformance occurs as mechanism. Purpose This study aims to assess the performance of Canadian higher educational institutions (HEIs) on sustainable development goals (SDGs) from 2019 2023, determine where they have focused on, whether improved or not their and if having larger research income affects sustainability performance. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023 27 HEIs, statistical tests used performance, trends significant differences. Findings Results show that while overall HEIs are performing better SDGs, minimum maximum scores variance across universities has declined; social economic SDGs is significantly positive some but all these SDGs. More importantly, environmental poor, with a constant decline in score SDG#13 – climate action, which peaked was than 2023. also smaller perform top institutions.
