We investigated factors associated with increased risk for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in ambulance personnel and the barriers faced accessing support work-related (WRS). A cross-sectional study of 388 used self-administered questionnaires to assess PTSD level occupational stressors: Impact Event Scale-Revised, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Critical Incident Inventory, EMS Chronic Stress Questionnaire, SF-36 Quality Life Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale. The prevalence population was 30%. participants were predominantly female (55%), a median age 38 (IQR; 31-44) years. smoking (OR = 1.76, 95% CI: 1.05-2.95), illicit drug use 16.4, 1.87-143.86) problem drinking 3.86, 1.80-8.23). self-reported mental health condition 3.76, 1.96-7.21), being treated medical 1.95, 1.22-3.11), exposure critical incident 4.27, 2.24-8.15) chronic WRS 4.46, 1.93-10.31) risk. Abstract Various job demands continuously threaten Emergency Medical Service (EMS) first responders’ safety and wellbeing. Drawing on Job Demands–Resources Theory, the present study examines effects of organizational context—safety climate—and psychological context—emotional exhaustion—on behaviors wellbeing over time. We tested our hypotheses in a longitudinal 208 EMS responders nested within 45 stations from three fire departments US metropolitan areas 6 months during beginning COVID-19 pandemic. Multilevel modeling showed that relationship between climate compliance can be attenuated when experience high emotional exhaustion. Emotional exhaustion was also negatively associated with morale while positively morale. Additionally, experienced increased depression their levels were high. To systematically review studies of health promotion intervention in the police force. Four databases were searched for articles reporting on prepost single and multigroup officers trainees. Data extracted bias assessed to evaluate study characteristics, design impact interventions health. Database searching identified 25 21 relevant aims this review. Few (n=3) long duration (≥6 months). Nine evaluated structured physical activity and/or diet programmes only, 5 used education behaviour change support-only interventions, combined with support, 2 computer prompts minimise sedentary behaviour. A wide array lifestyle outcomes was measured, 11/13 8/8 single-group beneficial impacts outcomes. High risk evident across most studies.
