Using data from the second National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-being (NSCAW II), we use a latent class analysis (LCA) to describe subpopulations families investigated for child maltreatment, distinguished by sets risk factors. We do this separately above below federal poverty line comparison purposes. also examine characteristics that predict membership in these subgroups. find both similarities differences combinations predictors status. Results analyses shed light on significant proportion who become involved with welfare system through maltreatment investigation but not live poverty—an understudied group. Findings inform service needs different types families, as well suggesting need new sociological theories less reliant economic hardship predominant driver involvement.

We report the results of a scoping review literature investigating associations between positive childhood experiences (PCEs) and selected health outcomes to identify which have highest level research activity based on indexed academic literature. Yielded articles underwent title/abstract (Ti/Ab) full text screening utilizing inclusion/exclusion criteria. The was guided by PCE categories from Healthy Outcomes Positive Experiences framework: relationships, environment, engagement, emotional growth. initial search yielded 8,919 unduplicated articles, 759 were retained following Ti/Ab 220 after describing 795 tested across 23 types in ten outcome categories. most commonly examined substance misuse (305 93 studies), suicidal behaviors (195 56 depression (112 55 studies). Physical less common (14 six Of exposures, relationships represented 415 associations, 236 with 114 social engagement. A significant body demonstrated PCEs outcomes. While further is needed, available suggests that public efforts promote may impact multiple domains.

Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are a possible pathway through which poor family finances influences adolescents' behavioral and mental health problems. However, the interrelationship between finances, ACEs, outcomes in adolescence has received little attention. We aimed to (1) document exposure family-based ACEs by perceived (PFF), (2) examine how PFF relates cumulative pattern-based approaches (3) assess direct interactive associations relation with Data stem from 2017-2019 nationwide Ungdata surveys of adolescents aged 13-15 (n = 12,560). Family-based were measured 6 items covering parental alcohol use intoxication, intra-familial violence fighting. The used both as index score examined latent class analysis (LCA) identify patterns exposures. Cluster robust linear regression analyses additive PFF, depressive symptoms. Poor (compared not poor) was significantly associated more symptoms Cumulative pattern based partially similarly attenuated association outcomes. Mainly, however, independently did interact. co-occur, have strong problems adolescence.

An increasing body of evidence highlights the utility examining adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) utilizing person-centered analytical approaches, particularly for understanding organization and co-occurrence ACEs, their contributions to risk, vulnerability, development intervention efforts. In first study its kind, this paper uses Latent Class Analysis, assess ACEs among a large community sample in Abu Dhabi, capital city United Arab Emirates, by patterns associated impact on health, mental behavioral adult psychological function cross-sectional 922 members Dhabi community. Findings support 3-class solution, representing low-to-no Household Violence sample, with variability age, sex, nationality status reflected across classes. ACE categories notably differentiated later risk suite diagnoses health disorders, elevated screening values depression, anxiety stress, range risk-related behaviors. These findings are considered line extant literature form basis considerable public policy planning region.

This study aimed to investigate alternative approaches a cumulative risk score in the relationship between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and crime. Using data from 1993 Pelotas (Brazil) Birth Cohort (n=3,236), we measured 12 ACEs up 15 years, past-year violent non-violent crime at 22 years. We used four analytical approaches: single adversities, risk, latent class analysis, network analysis. When examined individually, physical abuse, emotional domestic violence were associated with both outcomes, whereas maternal mental illness discrimination only, parental divorce poverty only. There was effect of on The child maltreatment household challenges outcomes; exposure social risks In models, showed conditional associations illness, divorce. Although did associate crime, some individual combinations particularly strong robust effects, which not captured by score. Many are closely connected and/or cluster together, usefulness ACE needs be further evaluated.
