Abstract In this paper the feasibility of a novel method for estimating revision difficulty academic texts to be published in English as lingua franca (ELF) is examined with purpose optimizing revisors’ workflow and performance. doing so, we also address complex issue linguistic standards ELF productions from new perspective. The automatic round-trip translation (RTT), which consists machine-translating text into another language back source language, applied conjunction BLEU, an similarity traditionally used machine evaluation. between manuscript its calculated obtain priori evaluation difficulty, efficacy reliability are tested. Alongside experimental research, some theoretical issues regarding practice hyperglobalized context international publishing discussed. results experiments show that RTT-based can successfully estimate difficulty. variety data demonstrates applicability beyond cases under study.
