Some wish to mandate preregistration as a response the replication crisis, while I and others caution that such mandates inadvertently cause harm distract from more critical reforms. In this article, after briefly critiquing recently published defense of mandates, propose three-part vision for cultivating robust cumulative psychological science. First, we must know how produce rather than fragile findings. Key ingredients include sufficient sample sizes, valid measurement, honesty/transparency. Second, identify (and non-robust) To end, reframe robustness checks broadly into four types: across analytic decisions, measures, samples, investigative teams. Third, be motivated care about This aim requires marshaling sociocultural forces support, reward, celebrate production findings, just once rewarded flashy but Critically, these reinforcements tied closely possible rigor themselves—rather cosmetic indicators robustness, have done in past.

It is often argued that increased "attentional bias to threat" in anxiety due delayed attentional disengagement from threat stimuli, rather than orienting towards such signals. In 2013, [Clarke, P. Since critique, over fifty claiming measure have been published, many using suboptimal methods. We also highlight where task parameters allowed measurement include meta-analysis (759 participants) subset. ABSTRACT Purpose The relationship between attentional bias and substance use patterns cravings in addiction is well documented. However, the connections relapse remain unclear. This systematic review aims to examine synthesize longitudinal studies on relapse. Methods Following PRISMA guidelines, databases including PubMed, Web of Science, EBSCO, Scopus were searched, yielding 1992 articles. Ultimately, 13 included this review. Studies evaluated coded using a tool developed by researchers. includes that explore associations related alcohol other psychoactive substances. Results Findings inconsistent. with larger sample sizes demonstrated significant Generally, lack clear definition relapse, varied assessment methods, differences implementation tasks contributed conflicting results. Conclusion findings provide valuable insights for professionals field researchers focusing bias. Further research necessary elucidate emphasizing need definitions reliable methods evaluate both In addition, investigating impact modification outcomes would be beneficial.

Biased attention for dysphoric stimuli is thought to maintain depression, but poor measurement has limited prior tests of this hypothesis. The current study examined the association between biased information and depression using a novel free viewing bias task combined with measuring line visual gaze via eye tracking or behavioral proxy mouse in three samples college students in-person eye-tracking (Experiment 1, N = 129) remotely collected mouse-tracking 2, 79; Experiment 3, 154). Mixed effects regression analyses revealed that severity was significantly associated greater Experiments 1 not 3. Results suggest (although findings from 3 temper conclusion) eye- may be good options depression. Additional work longitudinal research designs seems warranted further examine relationship maintenance

Attention bias (AB) toward food is associated with obesity, but it unclear if programs designed to reduce AB can impact adolescents' eating behavior. We investigated whether a two-week, smartphone-delivered attention retraining (AR) program (vs control program) altered in adolescent girls overweight. Participants completed three food-cue visual-probe trainings/day. The AR and directed away from stimuli during 100% 50% of trainings, respectively. Before after completion the programs, task while undergoing magnetoencephalography (MEG), then laboratory test meal. Sixty-eight adolescents were randomized; 58 post-program visits.
