Preparing students to communicate in business has often been an overlooked area within literacy studies. With current calls by Cardon et al. (2024) focus on core competencies the communication classroom with emergence of generative AI, it is more important than ever remember Berkenkotter and Huckin’s (1994) explanation that will always learn a form “situated cognition embedded disciplinary activities” (p. 3). Perceptions of Professionalism and Authenticity in AI-Assisted Writing DOI

This study captured the perspectives of 887 working adults to explore views professionalism, authenticity, and effectiveness AI-generated messages. With a 3 (message type) × 2 (disclosed vs. undisclosed) (ChatGPT-generated Google-generated AI messages) design, professionals generally view content favorably in all conditions. Across messages, consistently rated messages as professional, effective, efficient, confident, direct. They rate sincerity caring slightly lower some disclosed conditions, particularly for ChatGPT-generated suggesting importance tool selection when using generative workplace writing. Those who use more frequently work are likely AI-assisted writing authentic, confidence-building. Implications teaching business communication, including need address literacy, suggestions future research provided.

The rapid proliferation and adoption of generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) underscores its ease use. However, there has been limited research exploring what constitutes proficient use GAI competencies underpin it. In this study, we adopt a grounded approach semi-structured interviews to explore how twenty-five expert users (all knowledge workers) define, exemplify, explain proficiency. A purposive sampling was adopted with the aim capturing input from experts range occupations sectors towards answering three questions. First, can identify characteristics that differentiate (more effective) GAI? Second, are seen underlie Third, benefits associated more tools? The study aims to identify the knowledge, skills and competencies required by accounting auditing (AA) professionals in context of integrating disruptive Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) technologies develop a framework for GenAI capabilities into organisational systems, harnessing its potential revolutionise lifelong learning development assist day-to-day operations decision-making. A Genre, Scoring, and Authorship Analysis of AI-Generated and Human-Written Refusal Emails DOI

This study compares AI-generated (ChatGPT and Gemini) human-written business refusal texts. A genre analysis found that texts are formulaic less nuanced than Applying a rating of professional writing quality, inferential statistics revealed no significant difference in scores between Gemini texts, but ChatGPT as lower. Human assessors identified authorship with an accuracy rate 68.1%, 86% accuracy. Key concerns for were tone, relationship, language choice, content, structure. The findings inform four key areas focus teaching the AI age.

Since its release in late 2022, ChatGPT and subsequent generative artificial intelligence (GAI) tools have raised a wide variety of questions concerns for the field technical communication: How will these be incorporated into professional settings? might we appropriately integrate our research teaching? In this review, examine published 2023–2024 addressing ( N = 28). Overall, find preliminary evidence that GAI can positively impact student writing assessment; they also potential to assist with some aspects academic medical writing. However, there are about their reliability ethical conundrums when used inappropriately or outputs cannot distinguished from humans. More is needed evidence-based teaching strategies as well policies guiding use. We offer suggestions new avenues methods.
