A cross-sectional study exploring the predictors of herpes zoster vaccination for people aged over 50 years old in Chaoyang district, Beijing

Background
Vaccination
is
an
effective
measure
to
prevent
herpes
zoster
and
its
related
complications.
The
coverage
of
vaccination
extremely
low
in
China,
there
a
notable
lack
research
investigating
the
barriers
promoting
vaccine
China.
Objectives
This
study
aims
survey
status
(HZ)
associated
factors
among
individuals
aged
50
years
older,
it
also
seeks
identify
dissemination,
thereby
providing
scientific
foundation
for
enhancing

zoster.
Methods
From
March
August
2023,
questionnaire
was
conducted
using
multi-stage
sampling
method
on
permanent
residents

Chaoyang
district

regression
analysis

13.26%
(403/3040),
with
52.4%
respondents

willingness

not
yet
receiving
vaccine,

34.31%

vaccinated.

willing
vaccinated,
48.06%
cited
high
cost
as
reason
abstaining
from
vaccination.
Multivariate
logistic
revealed
that
certain
lower
coverage,
including
being
female,
having
frequency
influenza
episodes
(less
than
twice
per
year),
chronic
diseases.
On
other
hand,
higher
observed
whose
spouses
had
master’s
degree
or
higher,
awarded
history
chickenpox
may
lead
potential
infection,
who
knowledgeable
about
received
recommendations
medical
staff.
Additionally,
model
confirmed
staff
most
significant
impact
Conclusion
reveals
generally
over
this
area.
It
recommended
enhance
role
advocating
vaccination,
conduct
community-based
educational
initiatives
focus
varicella,
zoster,
knowledge,

financial

COVID-19
pandemic

Introduction
