The Hylurgini tribe (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae) comprises commercially significant bark beetles, including invasive species within the genera Dendroctonus and Hylurgus . These coexist with native Tomicus of cooperatively infest host trees in China. However, we lack sufficient mitochondrial genome data to conduct phylogenetic studies, clarify relationships above species, improve understanding niche divergence common hazards. Here, sequenced analyzed genomes seven valens , ligniperda micklitzi piniperda brevipilosus minor yunnanensis All ranged from 15,339 bp 17,545 length, their AT contents 73.24% 78.81%. structure was consistent that ancestral insects. Background/Objectives: Fish are vital in the Mediterranean diet, offering protein, nutrients, and ω-3 fatty acids. Greek consumers favor wild-caught, high-value fish like dusky grouper (Epinephelus marginatus) classified as “vulnerable” white aeneus) “near threatened” species, according to IUCN Red List. Due their premium prices complex supply chains, these species susceptible fraud, especially through mislabeling. This practice not only deceives but also poses health risks encourages illegal fishing. DNA-based methods have shown effectiveness accurately identifying even processed samples. The aim of this study is apply high-resolution melting analysis (HRM) a rapid, effective method for monitoring appropriate labeling two Epinephelus market. Methods: In study, fresh from catches well cooked, frozen, filleted samples collected market were identified using DNA barcoding. HRM based on single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) was used differentiate between locally sourced E. marginatus aeneus imported counterparts or other available that could be substitution incidents. Results: Using analysis, cases mislabeling confirmed sequencing. Conclusions: proved an accurate cost-effective rapidly processing large number samples; therefore, it serve valuable tool extensive controls bio-diversity conservation monitoring.

Abstract The mitochondrial genome serves as a crucial molecular marker for studying phylogenetic relationships and evolution in fish. Despite their ecological significance freshwater ecosystems, Glyptothorax fishes have limited evolutionary research, with only few complete genomes reported. present study examines the DNA (mtDNA) of G. cavia, trilineatus, annandalei, sinensis, granosus, sequence lengths 16,529 bp, 16,539 16,541 16,531 16,540 respectively. Our comprehensive analysis reveals that most protein-coding genes (PCGs) begin ATG codon terminate TAA, although some exhibit incomplete stop codons (T/TA). majority 13 PCGs display negative GC skew, except ND6 gene. In terms AT eight positive values, while COX1, ND3, ND4L, ND4, ND5, Cytb values. Genetic distance Ka/Ks ratio analyses indicate purifying selection acting on PCGs, pressures potentially influenced by environmental adaptations. Phylogenetic identify granosus closely related species.

Inimicus didactylus is a venomous fish belonging to the family Synanceiidae, which closely related true stonefishes (Synanceiidae, Synanceia spp.). Here, we employed high-throughput sequencing technology assemble and annotate complete mitochondrial genome of I. didactylus. The genome, with length 16,670 base pairs, exhibits A-T bias in its composition (58.19%) consists 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA 2 rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis indicates close relationship between japonicus. This study provides genomic resource that enhances ecology evolution researches on Synanceiidae species.

The order Siluriformes (catfish) is one of the largest groups fish. Diversity in body size among its species, which range from a few centimeters to 4 meters, makes an interesting group investigate evolution. Here, we present complete mitogenome Brachyplatystoma filamentosum (Piraíba), Amazonian catfish, explore evolutionary history and their dynamics. Piraíba's mtDNA 16,566 bp long, with GC content 42.21% D-loop 911 bp. Phylogenetic analysis was conducted using protein-coding sequences, tRNAs, rRNAs Piraíba 137 other species. Time-calibrated maximum likelihood trees estimated origin be ~118.4 Ma, Loricarioidei suborder diversifying first, followed by Diplomystoidei Siluroidei. Siluroidei experienced rapid expansion around 94.1 Ma. Evolutionary dynamics revealed 16 positive 11 negative directional changes Siluriformes, no global trend toward larger or smaller sizes, showing significant increase (5.65 times over 40.8 Ma). We discuss how biological, ecological environmental factors could have shaped evolution this group.
