BACKGROUND: In China, the Chinese silkie chicken is designated as a breed of significant conservation priority, employed in both meat and poultry production, well traditional medicine. The distinctive phenotypic traits, including hookless feathers, polydactyly, black skin, bones, hyperpigmentation connective tissue, have garnered attention breeders scientific researchers, who utilize silk chickens model to investigate genetic evolutionary processes underlying diversity. AIM: Study selection traces genome population Russia. MATERIALS AND METHODS: For purposes this study, biological material was obtained from birds Russian chickens. Genotyping conducted using Illumina Chicken 60K SNP microarray. analysis genomic architecture included study homozygous regions with frequency occurrence above 75%. RESULTS: selected 24 candidate genes associated plumage development (АLK, EDARADD), backbone (WDR43, FBXO11), those affecting body adaptive immune capacity (EPCAM, PELI3, PLEK, LGALS8, RAB1B, RYR2), on egg (MDH1, SPRED2, MEIS1, ACTN2, PCNX2, BCL2L10, CYP19A1), (FOXN2, B3GNT2, MDH1, TMOD3, SLC35F3, NTPCR, PPP3R1, TSNAX) performance. CONCLUSIONS: These findings enhance our comprehension impact selective breeding makeup Russia contribute preservation breed.

(1) Background: The Hulunbuir sheep is a Chinese local breed with good meat quality and exceptional cold-stress resilience. However, the growth performance of lower when compared to that commercial breeds. Growth traits such as body weight size are critical, they directly influence production in farming. Employing genome-wide association studies can identify SNPs candidate genes related sheep. (2) Methods: chest girth (CG), cannon circumference (CC), hip width (HW), height (BH), length (BL) 799 were measured. All animals divided into three groups according their age (Group 1: 0–6 months old, Group 2: 12–24 3: 48–70 old). Subsequently, genotyping was carried out using Sheep 40K liquid chip. A multi-trait study (MT-GWAS) performed for each group animals. (3) Results: total (SLC9C1, VSTM2A, FRG1) associated identified through GWAS analysis KEGG pathway enrichment 2. (4) Conclusions: This sheep, providing genetic targets marker-assisted selection (MAS)

Runs of homozygosity (ROH) are contiguous stretches identical genomic regions inherited from both parents. Assessment ROH in livestock species contributes significantly to our understanding genetic health, population structure, selective pressure and conservation efforts. In this study, whole genome re-sequencing data 140 birds 10 Iranian indigenous chicken ecotypes, 3 commercial breeds 1 red junglefowl (RJF) were used investigate their characteristics (length frequency) inbreeding coefficients (F

This study aimed to assess the genetic diversity and population structure of two Italian local chicken breeds, Millefiori Piemontese (PMP) Collo Nudo Italiana (PCI), using 600K Affymetrix SNP chip array, contextualise these breeds in national biodiversity landscape based on 23 previously characterised. Minor allele frequency (MAF), expected heterozygosity (He), observed (Ho) PCI were 0.311 ± 0.170, 0.484 0.107, 0.469 0.128, respectively. The inbreeding coefficient (FHOM) was −0.001 0.066 calculated runs homozygosity (ROH) values (FROH) 0.003 0.004. PMP had MAF, He, Ho 0.245 0.201, 0.383 0.112, 0.428 0.149, respectively, exhibited higher FHOM (0.149 0.405) FROH (0.016 0.009) than PCI. multi-dimensional scaling plot neighbour-joining tree depicted clear clustering for both breeds. ROH analysis identified key genomic regions with significant gene annotations. In particular, four islands GGA4, GGA5, GGA8 PCI, three GGA3 detected. For contained genes related immune response thermoregulation, such as S1PR1 PLA2G4A. PMP, included involved muscle development response, RRM2, KLF11, CPSF3. research provided insights into adaptive traits contributing widen understanding resources.
