Mythimna separata larvae exhibit both solitary and gregarious phases under low high population density, respectively; furthermore, differences in morphology, behavior physiology have been observed the two phases. The integument plays an essential role fitness, general metabolism, communication, survival of insects; however, ultrastructure gene expression are largely unknown. In this study, was compared, transcriptome analysis conducted to identify which genes were differentially expressed results showed that had thicker integuments more polygonal particles on cuticle surface than larvae. Using Illumina HiSeq™ sequencing platform, 2774 (DEGs) generated.
