Abstract Background With growing prevalence of dementia worldwide, risk reduction is a key interest the World Health Organization’s Global Dementia Action Plan. Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) prominent predictor future diagnosis. Therefore, people with SCD are an important group for prevention intervention. Exercise and healthy diet associated 30–60% decrease in longitudinal studies. Technological advances yield potential trials that deliver lifestyle interventions virtually, reaching wide geographical spread. However, feasibility large-scale virtual still needs to be established. Objective This trial aims examine factorial randomized controlled exploring 6-month virtual, exercise Methods We will recruit 140 older adults (65 + years) SCD, who receive combination of: Aerobic Resistance (EX) or Stretching Toning (STRETCH) either Diet Counselling (DIET) Brain Education (ED);. Participants four weekly hours one intervention arms: (1) EX DIET; 2) ED; 3) STRETCH 4) ED. include moderate intensity aerobic resistance training. DIET instruct participants brain food choices. Assessments performed virtually at baseline, 6 months (post-intervention), 12 months. Feasibility measured by recruitment rate, adherence, retention. Discussion Established set stage definitive trial. results also inform programs/services. In long-term, if feasible beneficial, this model could scale up spread quickly reach at-risk individuals purpose reduction. Previous research has demonstrated a dose-response relationship between exposure to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and outcomes in adulthood. Despite widely known associations, previous reviews have primarily focused on younger middle-aged adults exposed ACEs the exclusion of older do not consider potential role resilience for understanding The present scoping review aimed examine extent nature existing literature influence cognitive, physical, mental, social health among adults. We conducted search five electronic databases (CINAHL, MEDLINE, PsycINFO, AgeLine, Scopus) using following keywords: adversity, resilience, aging, limited our inclusion criteria works published English or French after 1998 as Felitti et al. first study describing this year. Of 4926 studies screened, 27 met criteria. Overall, results from included indicated that adversity during was associated with worse Additionally, we found resiliency-related factors (e.g., problem-focused coping strategies) mitigated reduced harms improve Exposure is functioning later Findings indicate need further exploration into ACEs, effects develop better individual- population-level interventions group.

Abstract Background Motor vehicle crashes are the second leading cause of injury death among adults aged 65 and older in U.S., only to falls. A common state-level approach mitigating adult crash risk is implementation driver license renewal policies which vary largely between states data on their effectiveness preventing injuries limited. To fill this gap, aim study examine association state rates. Methods Historical data, policy other relevant demographic were gathered from 13 U.S. (CO, IL, IA, KS, MN, MO, NE, ND, OH, SD, UT, WI, WY) for years 2000 through 2019, inclusive. Main exposures included six policies: period, in-person frequency, vision testing, knowledge on-road drive mandatory physician reporting. The primary outcomes rates per 100,000 population. Results population 19,010,179 crash-involved drivers 40 older. State became less restrictive many over even 75 older, resulting longer times renewals fewer requirements. Loosening every time than was associated with increased rates, 74 (RR = 1.08, 95% CI: 1.01–1.16). duration 1.18, 1.00–1.39). Conclusions Generally, resulted required intervals renewal. However, safety benefits licensing should be carefully weighed against costs well-being quality life following licensure loss. Additional methods assess fitness necessary identify mechanisms behind

This study aims to estimate the spatiotemporal variation in burden of colorectal cancer (CRC) attributable low physical activity (LPA) at global, regional, and national levels from 1990 2021. Cross-sectional study. Annual data on deaths CRC related LPA, age-standardized mortality rate (ASMR), disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), DALYs (ASDR) for 204 countries territories 2021 was extracted Global Health Data Exchange website. They were retrieved by age (5-year groups 25 94 years, 95+ years), gender (male female), Socio-demographic Index (SDI). The association between rates SDI values assessed Spearman's correlation. Between 2021, there nearly a twofold increase globally despite decreases ASMR ASDR (EAPC: -0.82% -0.83%, respectively). However, scale, increased more than half world's territories. Moreover, greater LPA observed older populations, females, those residing regions with an near 0.77. These findings indicate critical need raise awareness about preventive role CRC. Policymakers should prioritize developing implementing strategies that ensure equitable access sports resources, enabling people meet World Organization guidelines.

Cities are undergoing rapid transformations due to global trends such as population aging, climate change, and increasing social diversity. In order address these challenges, urban planning must adopt regenerative approaches that enhance subjective well-being by fostering meaningful relationships between people their surroundings. Streetscapes, which serve accessible landscapes, important, especially for older adults, who depend on local environment mobility constraints. This study examines the composition of streetscapes adults in a Japanese municipality. Using streetscape imagery semantic segmentation, we quantified landscape elements—including vegetation, sky, roads, buildings—within various walking distances from participants’ residences. Subjective was measured using an 11-point Likert scale analyzed ordinal logistic regression. The results revealed specific elements significantly impacted differently across spatial thresholds, showing micro-scale landscapes substantially important promoting among adults. provides evidence-based insights adaptive, inclusive, strategies promote diverse demographic groups.

Falls among the elderly population can have serious and potentially life-threatening consequences. To prevent such incidents, a multi-faceted approach must be implemented within healthcare system. Firstly, providers should conduct routine screenings for fall risk factors, as muscle weakness balance issues, during regular check-ups. Additionally, implementing exercise programs that focus on improving strength help reduce likelihood of falls. Assessing modifying home environment to remove potential hazards, uneven flooring or inadequate lighting, is also crucial in preventing Furthermore, educating both individuals their caregivers about prevention strategies essential. By combining these efforts with proper medication management vision checks, we effectively decrease threat falls improve overall quality life.
