Background: COVID-19 pandemic, an unprecedented global public health event, is a potential precipitating factor of psychological distress especially among Health Care Workers (HCWs) in developing countries already operating under challenging socioeconomic conditions. The study aims to assess the prevalence, sociodemographic patterns and predictors stress, anxiety depression during Pandemic HCWs socio-economically challenged environment. Objectives: We determined the prevalence of psychological distress, and associations between sociodemographic factors, anxiety, depression, COVID-19-related experiences, among nurses doctors in Nigeria. Methods: The study was a cross-sectional descriptive study, conducted over month (1st July-31st July 2021) 434 Health Care Workers (HCWs) [225 (51.8%) 209 (48.2%) doctors] from two tertiary health facilities southwestern Binary logistic regression carried out to determine factors associated with distress (dependent variable), while independent variables were COVID-19 experience-related factors. Results: moderate severe 49.1% 5.8%, respectively. COVID-19 represented an unprecedented challenge for health workers around the world, resulting in strong concerns about impacts on their psychological well-being. To inform on-going support and future preparedness activities, this study documented workers' experiences, well-being coping throughout first wave of pandemic, Burkina Faso, Senegal The Gambia. We collected data from 68 primarily clinical staff treatment, maternity emergency departments 13 purposely hospitals laboratories across three countries. Following in-depth interviews via Zoom (mid-May to September 2020), we regularly followed up WhatsApp until end 2020. used a mixed deductive inductive coding approach framework matrix organize analyse material. All respondents initially assessed situation as stressful threatening. Major emotional reactions included fear own infection, being risk loved ones, guilt, compassion, anxiety regarding future. Many suffered feeling left alone with emerging crisis unvalued unappreciated, particularly by governments ministries health. Abstract Importance:The COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on the prevalence of anxiety symptoms among healthcare workers remains unclear.
