Background Tobacco retailer density might influence youth e-cigarette use due to increased access and exposure point-of-sale marketing. There is a need for longitudinal investigations on the association of tobacco with use, consideration contextual factors such as neighbourhood walkability that could enhance exposure. Methods Five semi-annual waves (Fall 2021-Fall 2023) Southern California school-based cohort who never vaped at baseline (n=3401; mean age=15 years [range=12–17]) were merged spatial data retailers corresponding each school year. Time-varying measures exposures included count within circular home buffers (800 m/1600 m buffers) density/km 2 census tracts. Discrete-time survival analyses estimated associations time-lagged time-varying vaping initiation 6-month follow-up, adjusting race/ethnicity, parental education, an Area Deprivation Index. Secondary examined moderation by based National Walkability Results The incident rate was 3.8% per follow-up. After covariate adjustment, only tract retail statistically significant (risk ratio (RR) highest vs lowest quartile=1.36, 95% CI=1.01 1.84). In analyses, 800 positively associated lived in most walkable neighbourhoods (RR=1.08, CI: 1.01 1.16), no less (RR=1.00, CI:0.95 1.05; interaction p-value=0.0238). Conclusion Findings highlight potential role restricting preventing vaping, particularly areas characterised both greater density.

INTRODUCTION Electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) use has increased globally among adolescents. However, data on its adolescents in Saudi Arabia remain limited. Therefore, this study describes the characteristics and factors associated with e-cigarette population.METHODS Data from 2022 Global Youth Tobacco Survey targeting students aged 13-15 years were analyzed. This examined current ever of e-cigarettes as dependent variables, sociodemographic characteristics, smoking behaviors, exposure to tobacco-related messages independent variables.RESULTS Among adolescents, 14.2% had used e-cigarettes, while 5.3% users.Older exhibited a higher prevalence (12%, 13%, 19% those 13, 14, 15 years, respectively).Of who smoked cigarettes, 44% reported using 23% (15 years) 35% more likely be users (AOR=1.35;95% CI: 1.32-1.38)and 39% (AOR=1.39;95% 1.34-1.43)than 13 years.Exposure pro-tobacco marketing was twice odds (AOR=2.23;95% 2.21-2.26)and 2.76 times becoming (AOR=2.64;95% 2.58-2.69)compared non-exposed adolescents.CONCLUSIONS E-cigarette is prevalent older males, weekly allowances.Additionally, tobacco are exposed secondhand smoke, or encounter promotional marketing.

Since the introduction of electronic cigarettes (ECs) to global market, composition e-liquids has been a controversial topic. While some consider ECs be an effective tool for quitting smoking, their primary criticism lies in uncertain and varied e-liquids. Manufacturers create desired formulations by mixing different ratios humectants, flavorings, nicotine, cannabinoids, cooling agents. However, health effects inhaling these compounds are still not well understood. Regular analytical control aerosols is crucial gain valuable insights into e-liquid composition, generating new during aerosolization, potential impact on human health. This work presents overview techniques used qualitative quantitative determination aerosol compounds, including description methods collection. Gas liquid chromatography most compound determination, followed nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Additionally, inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry plasma-optical emission spectroscopy frequently elemental aerosols.

E-cigarettes and vaping are becoming huge public health problems, particularly among kids, despite their marketing as more secure options to traditional cigarettes. The surge in use amongst adolescents is attributed attractive flavors, perceived protection, competitive advertising, mainly concerns about nicotine addiction a potential gateway regular smoking. rise connected demographic elements, with varying usage patterns distinct age, gender, socioeconomic agencies. Short-term consequences encompass dependence cognitive impairments, while long-term dangers include respiratory cardiovascular issues. Key risk factors peer strain, publicity of tobacco marketing, intellectual fitness problems. Effective prevention strategies involve school-primarily based applications, community interventions, legislative measures like age restrictions taste bans, comprehensive campaigns. Abstract Introduction Young people who use nicotine‐containing electronic cigarettes, or ‘vapes’, risk becoming addicted to these products. While several studies document dependency symptoms, few report in‐depth qualitative analyses of addiction. Methods We explored experiences self‐reported vaping addiction using interviews with 22 young aged 16–20 years vaped and lived in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our semi‐structured interview guide probed participants' early how they progressed from experimentation affected their perceptions daily routines. used an inductive reflexive thematic analysis approach interpret the data.
