Abstract Backgrounds: Limited evidence suggested that the Health Belief Model (HBM) had been used to explain how children were influenced by their mothers' health behaviors amid rapid increase in international marriages Taiwan. This study aimed explore beliefs of immigrant and Taiwanese mothers regarding children's dental caries status using HBM. Methods: employed a cross-sectional design. A total 157 mothers, 29 from China, 64 Southeast Asia purposively selected 11 elementary schools. Each participant completed structured questionnaire included socio-demographic information, lifestyle habits, self-perceived oral beliefs, hygiene behaviors. Dental records aged 6-12 obtained local dentists at each school. Results: scored significantly higher perceived susceptibility, severity, benefit compared China Asia. However, there no significant differences among three groups. multiple linear regression model, adjusted for covariates, indicated scores associated with lower children. Conclusion: While environmental genetic factors children, our findings demonstrated mother's affected her status.

The objective of this review is to identify the microbiological alterations caused by various therapy modalities critically analyzing current findings. We limited our search English-language papers published between 1 January 2004 and 7 May 2024 in PubMed, Scopus, Web Science that were relevant topic. In approach, Boolean keywords "microbio*" AND "periodontitis" used. A total 5152 obtained from databases (2205), PubMed (1793), Scopus (1154). This resulted 3266 articles after eliminating duplicates (1886), 1411 entries eliminated their titles abstracts examined. qualitative analysis 22 final included study. Research on periodontal disease shows periodontitis alters oral microbiome increases antibiotic resistance. Treatments like scaling root planing (SRP), especially when combined with minocycline, improve clinical outcomes reducing harmful bacteria. Comprehensive mechanical debridement antibiotics, probiotics, EMD bone grafts, other adjunctive therapies enhances health. Personalized treatment strategies advanced microbial analyses are crucial for effective management resistance control.

Curcumin (Curcumin) belongs to the polyphenol family. It is extracted by drying root of a plant Asian origin, belonging Zingiberaceae The best-known species Curcumincuma Longa. has been recognized as having great therapeutic powers since ancient times. Studies on curcumin have confirmed its powerful antioxidant properties, preventing both formation free radicals and their neutralization, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, immunological, neuroprotective well being regulator intestinal microbiota with beneficial effects clinical manifestations metabolic syndrome. Our study aimed highlight how all these aspects could benefit oral health, improving course pathological processes. effect mouthwashes, curcumin-based gels regulation bacterial plaque in control gingivitis, was largely comparable that using 0.20% chlorhexidine, fewer side effects. Being highly hydrophobic substance, it high permeability cross cell membrane. Bioavailability increases when combined liposoluble substances (e.g., olive oil) piperine, which improves absorption. also negligible degree toxicity, making an excellent alternative use gold standard products for disinfection.

Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the tissues surrounding and supporting teeth. Due to development inflammation, periodontitis can contribute several systemic diseases, including thyroid disease. Thyroid pathology includes benign, malignant, autoimmune conditions leading hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, or euthyroidism. Alterations in hormones, especially reveal significant oral manifestations, periodontitis. This scoping review aims explore probable causal relationship between disease, terms epidemiology, pathogenesis, treatment. The search strategy follows PRISMA-ScR guidelines. PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, Cochrane were searched from January 2014 2024, entering MESH “periodontitis” “thyroid”. Of 153 initial records, 20 articles selected discussed. There high prevalence among patients with cancer. causes at basis this association are genetic factors, microbiome, proinflammatory cytokines. Periodontal treatment, specifically scaling root planning, ameliorate parameters. Although there few randomized controlled studies literature, lays foundation for bidirectional link which is, once again, inflammation.

Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is a respiratory illness that associated with recurrent episodes of either partial or full obstruction the upper airways, apnea, among other disorders. This study aims to analyze, through literature review, whether orthodontic treatment can be good strategy for this type disorder. We performed database search on Scopus, Web Science, and Pubmed keywords OSA(S) orthodontics select papers under evaluation. The criteria inclusion were articles related children undergoing an clinical studies case series, excluding systematic reviews, narrative meta-analyses, adult studies, animal models, in vitro studies. screening phase ended selection 16 publications work. The objective systematic review was explore importance thin and thick periodontal phenotypes how they affect outcome by looking at a number academic publications from various online databases. Methods Following PRISMA guidelines (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review standards), relevant data will searched retrieved three significant scientific databases, including PubMed, EBSCO, Scopus. articles with full texts that matched keywords published English between 2018 2023 were taken into consideration. Results majorities these based on type their impact treatment outcomes selected. initial search yielded total 530 articles. Abstract Background The Herbst appliance is an excellent therapy for treating class II malocclusions with increased overjet. Its mechanics involve propelling the mandibular bone using two pistons patient cannot remove. so-called bite-jumping keeps mandible in a more anterior position variable period, usually at least 6 months. This does not inhibit joint functions and movements, although there are scientific papers literature investigating whether this can lead to temporomandibular disorders. systematic review aims evaluate Herbst’s device cause diseases by assessing presence of TMD patients before after treatment. Methods A search up 3 May 2023 was carried out on three online databases: PubMed, Scopus Web Science. Only studies that evaluated Helkimo scores Manual functional analysis were considered, as assessed difference therapy. Review Manager version 5.2.8 (Cochrane Collaboration) used pooled analysis. We measured odds ratio (OR) between groups (pre post-Herbst). Results included 60. Fifty-seven excluded. In addition, manual performed. After phase, four articles considered study, one which found through search. overall effect showed no prevalence pre-Herbst post-Herbst (OR 0.74; 95% CI: 0.33–1.68). Conclusion seems increase incidence treated patients; contrary, it appears decrease it. Further needed assess possible influence TMDs.

Regenerative medicine in dentistry focuses on repairing damaged oral tissues using advanced tools like stem cells, biomaterials, and tissue engineering (TE). Mesenchymal cells (MSCs) from dental sources, such as pulp periodontal ligament, show significant potential for regeneration due to their proliferative differentiative abilities. This systematic review, following PRISMA guidelines, evaluated fifteen studies identified effective strategies improving dental, periodontal, bone through scaffolds, secretomes, bioengineering methods. Key advancements include the use of (DPSCs) ligament (PDLSCs) boost cell viability manage inflammation. Additionally, pharmacological agents matrine surface modifications biomaterials improve adhesion promote osteogenic differentiation. By integrating these approaches, regenerative TE can optimize therapies enhance patient outcomes. review highlights challenges this field, providing a critical assessment current research future directions.

Children’s oral health is shaped by various contemporary risk factors that extend beyond genetics, with lifestyle habits, diet, and environmental influences playing a significant role. One of the most pressing concerns today high consumption sugary foods drinks, which significantly contributes to prevalence dental caries among young children. Additionally, digital media sedentary behaviors can indirectly affect encouraging unhealthy dietary patterns. Parental education key determinant in outcomes Well-informed parents are more likely implement preventive measures, such as regular check-ups, proper hygiene routines, healthy diet.
