Abstract Background Legal guardians frequently serve as role models for their children. The habits they instill in children may prove effective strategies establishing healthy oral hygiene behaviors. present study examined the factors associated with level of health knowledge, attitudes, and practices among legal preschool Peruvian capital. Furthermore, correlation between was assessed. Methods This cross-sectional, analytical evaluated 560 from 30 private educational institutions July December 2022. A validated 20-question questionnaire employed to assess guardians’ regarding health. Pearson’s chi-squared test Fisher’s exact were utilized bivariate analysis. For multivariate analysis, a Poisson regression model robust variance applied using adjusted prevalence ratio (APR). Statistical significance set at p < 0.05. The external apical root resorption that occurs during orthodontic treatment was the focus of this study, using either fixed appliances (FA) or clear aligners (CA). Using Boolean keywords “APICAL ROOT RESORPTION” and “CLEAR ALIGNERS”, study searched PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, with a restriction to English-language publications. A total 50 publications were found by computerized search, but after eliminating duplicates, completing reviews, determining eligibility, only 9 papers could be used in study. In conclusion, (ARR) is frequent consequence tooth movement mainly affects lower incisors, which may compromise success procedure health patient’s teeth. Several variables, including type tooth, have an impact on severity ARR.

Aim. The sulfhydryl (thiols) group of glutathione plays an important role in the neutralization foreign organic compounds and reduction peroxides. purpose study is to evaluate concentration groups gingival tissue healthy individuals those with gingivitis or periodontitis, examine differences between these groups. Material methods. To assess we used spectrophotometric analysis using dithionitrobenzoate (DTNB) as a reagent measure accessible present proteins. sample was divided into three distinct groups: periodontal health, gingivitis, different indices were status participants. Next, statistical conducted compare concentrations among patients. Conclusions. results this showed significantly decreased levels from patients compared people (control group). These confirm defense against free radicals. They share significant detoxification, signal transduction, apoptosis, various other functions at molecular level.

Abstract Ultrasound is an effective tool for both diagnostic and therapeutic applications. As imaging tool, ultrasound has mostly been used real-time noninvasive imaging. propagates through a material, reflected radio-frequency (RF) signal generated when encountering mismatch in acoustic impedance. While traditionally recognized its capabilities, the application of broadened to encompass interventions, most notably form Low-Intensity Pulsed (LIPUS). (LIPUS) mechanical energy transmitted transcutaneously by high-frequency pressure waves. The intensity LIPUS (30 mW/cm2) within range intensities purposes (1–50 regarded as non-thermal, non-destructive, permeating living tissues triggering cascade biochemical responses at cellular level. device produces 200 µs burst 1.5 MHz sine waves, that repeats modulation frequency 1 kHz provides peak 30 mW/cm2. Low-intensity pulsed forms one currently available non-invasive healing-enhancing devices besides electro-stimulation (pulsed electro-magnetic field, PEMF). This modality leveraged enhance drug delivery, expedite injury recovery, improve muscle mobility, alleviate joint stiffness pain, bone fracture healing. Although embraced various medical disciplines, integration into standard dental practices still nascent stages, signifying unexplored frontier with potentially transformative implications. emerged attractive adjuvant therapy procedures, such orthodontic treatment maxillary sinus augmentation. Its appeal lies simplicity nature, positioning promising avenue clinical innovation. One particular area interest orthodontically induced inflammatory root resorption (OIIRR), oftenunavoidable outcome intervention, resulting permanent loss structure. Notably, OIIRR second common (RR), surpassed only related pulpal infection. Given high prevalence potential long-term consequences OIIRR, this literature review seeks evaluate efficacy approach, emphasis on assessing capacity reduce severity level significance. Abstract Background Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) pose diagnostic challenges, and selecting appropriate imaging modalities is crucial for accurate assessment. This study aimed to compare the accuracy efficacy of ultrasonography (US) magnetic resonance (MRI) in identifying TMDs. Methods A comprehensive meta‐analysis was conducted, including studies that compared US MRI TMJ disorder assessments. Fixed‐effects models were utilized calculate pooled odds ratios (ORs) relative risks (RRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Heterogeneity assessed using chi‐squared test I 2 statistic. Newcastle–Ottawa scale used assess methodological quality included. Results Six included, involving a total 281 participants. The demonstrated statistically somewhat better than disorders. summary OR 0.64 (95% CI: 0.46–0.90), RR 0.80 0.68–0.95). among low ( χ = 2.73, df 5, p .74; 0%). Demographic variables revealed variations sample size, gender ratio mean age across studies. Conclusion provides evidence may be more effective diagnosing However, limited by small number included demographic designs. Future research larger samples standardised protocols essential confirm strengthen these findings. Understanding will aid clinicians making informed decisions assessments patient management.

Abstract Introduction Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) is a multifaceted condition impacting the chewing system, with its frequency varying across different age groups and showing higher incidence in women. The involvement of estrogen TMD has been examined due to presence receptors TMJ area. However, exact effect on complex. During pregnancy, marked by significant hormonal fluctuations, impact hypothesized but remains unclear inconsistent results from various studies. Methods In this cross-sectional study, we enrolled 32 pregnant women consecutively. We gathered information demographics, evaluations (using Graded Chronic Pain Scale, Jaw Functional Limitation Scale-20, Oral Behaviors Checklist), mental health assessments (including Patient Health Questionnaire-9, Questionnaire-15, Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7). employed descriptive statistics summarize continuous categorical data used t-tests chi-square tests for comparisons. also conducted multivariate linear regression, adjusted demographic factors, investigate correlations. Results study group mainly consisted aged 30–35 (40.6%) 25–30 (18.8%). Most participants had completed high school (50%) were married (71.9%). A notable association was found between younger (under 30) levels somatic symptoms ( p = 0.008) generalized anxiety 0.015). Women their second trimester showed lower severity 0.04). link observed depression symptom 0.01). no correlations other TMD-related aspects. Discussion Our identified associations psychosomatic psychological variables like pregnancy it notably failed establish clear relationship pregnancy-related factors temporomandibular disorders (TMD). More comprehensive studies larger participant pools are necessary further validate expand these findings.
