Background Mental health plays a fundamental role in overall wellbeing, with depression being one of the most common mental disorders worldwide. University students face significant academic, financial, and social pressures, making them particularly vulnerable to depression. Among caffeinated products, chocolate consumed (92.9% males, 98.1% females), followed by other types coffee (71.9% 80.5% females). Significant gender noted Arabic coffee, chocolate, tea, consumption, but not energy drinks, e-cigarettes, or waterpipes. did differ substances, except smoking, where female smokers exhibited scores male ( p = 0.032). Additionally, varied majors, architecture displaying highest medical lowest. Tobacco is non-medical whereas majors. Conclusion highlights need targeted interventions, awareness campaigns, accessible psychological support services students. Future research should explore additional sociocultural factors influencing health.

Abstract Background Physical activity and rest patterns among adolescents significantly impact their health development. However, there is a lack of validated tools to measure motivation states for physical in Arabic-speaking populations. This study aimed validate both the 9-item single-item versions Cravings Rest Volitional Energy Expenditure (CRAVE) scale Arabic evaluate its psychometric properties. Eastern Mediterranean countries, particularly Lebanon, have seen a significant rise in mental disorders, primarily driven by ongoing economic instability, political unrest, and regional conflicts. These conditions fuel feelings of unsafety, which are linked to lower psychological well-being increased depressive symptoms. Unsafe circumstances inflate apprehension uncertainty, leaving individuals unable foresee stable, secure tomorrow often trapped an anticipatory negative thinking state. Therefore, this study posits that unsafe environments, Intolerance Uncertainty (IU) may mediate the relationships between feeling unsafety depression/well-being aims test hypothesis among sample adults from frequently crisis-ridden country. A one-time-point online survey was conducted Lebanese general population (N = 905; mean age 27.38 (SD: 9.28); 60% females), recruited anonymously via snowball sampling. The questionnaire included socio-demographic variables following Arabic validated scales: Feeling Unsafety Scale– (FUSA), World Health Organization Well-Being Index (WHO-5), Patient Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), Scale (IUS-12). Statistical analysis performed using SPSS v.27 with mediation PROCESS MACRO v3.4 Model 4. After adjusting for potential confounders, showed both prospective inhibitory anxiety fully mediated association depression partially well-being.
