Athlete burnout, characterized by emotional and physical exhaustion, reduced accomplishment, devaluation of sport, is a growing concern in sports psychology. Life stress has been identified as significant factor associated with athlete yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study explores relationship between life focus on chain mediation roles mindfulness cognitive emotion regulation strategies. A total 453 athletes from China were surveyed using convenience sampling. Participants completed four questionnaires: College Student-Athletes' Stress Scale, Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire, Cognitive Emotion Regulation Burnout Questionnaire. Data analyzed SPSS 22.0 for descriptive statistics Amos 24.0 structural equation modeling to explore mediating effects. was positively correlated burnout. strategies mediator this relationship. effect found, where influenced regulation, which turn significantly play crucial role mitigating effect. Interventions reduce burnout should emphasize improving potentially through training.
