ABSTRACT Aims This study aims to investigate the impact of challenge‐hindrance stressors on novice nurses' safety behaviour, mediating effect regulatory focus, and moderating workplace spirituality. Background The relationship between behaviour has rarely been investigated, despite global concern for patient in healthcare systems. Previous research suggests that focus spirituality matter nurse but them remains unclear. Methods An on‐site cross‐sectional survey. STROBE guidelines were followed report this study. Stratified sampling was used recruit participants, 471 nurses completed Nurse Safety Behaviour Questionnaire, Challenge‐Hindrance Stressors Scale, Regulatory Focus Workplace Spirituality Scale January 2024 May 2024. SPSS 24.0 PROCESS 3.5 macros test hypotheses. Results Challenge positively affect promotion mediates relationship. Hindrance negatively prevention partially masks moderates challenge behaviour. Conclusion Challenge‐hindrance have a double‐edged sword behaviours. play significant roles Impact Managers should leverage boost behaviours enhance their intrinsic motivation through focus. Additionally, managers highlight spirituality's importance coping with work stress. approach can effectively improve ensure safety.
