ABSTRACT Background It is extremely significant to explore the relationship between ruminative thinking and breathlessness catastrophizing among elderly COPD patients. However, impact of self‐efficacy on this still unclear. This study attempted mediating role catastrophizing. Design A cross‐sectional was reported following Strengthening Reporting Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) guidelines. Methods conducted 10 November 2024 25 January 2025, with 225 Data were collected using valid reliable instruments, including Ruminative Response Scale (RRS), Self‐Efficacy (CSES) Breathlessness Catastrophizing (BCS). Additionally, IBM SPSS v28.0 software used effect. Results The scores for BCS most patients at moderate high levels.
