Impact of Small Area Level Deprivation on Colorectal Cancer Survival: Findings from the Regional Cancer Registry in Korea

Research
on
the
relationship
between
small-area-level
deprivation
and
cancer
survival,
particularly
for
colorectal
(CRC),
is
lacking.
Therefore,
we
investigated

small
area-level
deprivation,
individual-level
factors,
CRC
survival
using
data
from
Busan
Regional
Cancer
Registry.

analyzed
34,999
patients
with
Registry
2003
to
2020.

Abstract
Background
Cancer
survivors
are
at
higher
risk
of
developing
cardiovascular
diseases
and
face
worse
morbidity
mortality
outcomes
than
the
general
population.
The
American
Heart
Association
(AHA)
introduced
Life’s
Essential
8
framework,
encompassing
eight
modifiable
factors
lifestyle
behaviors
for
maintaining
ideal
health
(CVH).
Although
this
framework
is
well-established
predicting
CVH
in
population,
studies
on
its
association
with
among
cancer
remain
scattered
across
literature.
Objective
This
review
maps
existing
literature
surrounding
factors,
behaviors,
CVH,
to
take
stock
what
known,
identify
methodological
strengths
weaknesses,
propose
promising
research
directions.
Methods
A
scoping
was
conducted
examining
different
dimensions
adult
survivors.
Measurement
methods
metrics,

judgment
by
engaging
in
behaviors
known

harmful
or
counterproductive)

cognitive,
systemic
barriers
influencing
survivor
engagement

ethical
reflection
approach
based
on
a
literature
review,
we
discussed
experiences,
behavioral
science

β-cyclodextrin
nanosponges
as
