For psychological formal models, the stability of different phases is an important property for understanding individual differences and change processes. Many researchers use landscapes as a metaphor to illustrate concept stability, but so far there no method quantify system’s phases. We here propose construct potential landscape multivariate models. This based on generalized function defined by Wang et al. (Citation2008) Monte Carlo simulation. Based we define three types phases: absolute relative geometric stability. The panic disorder model Robinaugh (Citation2019) used example, demonstrate how can be states phases, influence parameters, guide modifications. An R package, simlandr, was developed provide implementation method.

AbstractStimulation and movement interact non-linearly across multiple scales—a point empirically quantitatively available through multifractal structure. Multifractal movements might implicate stimulation. Previous correlational modeling of accelerometry-measured torso during blindwalking indicated that multifractality in predicts distance-perceptual judgments. We now experimentally tested whether stimulation interacted with to support distance perception. edited music-like sounds manipulate non-linearity auditory headphones participants perceiving by blindwalking—with eyes closed both Lap-1 instruction Lap-2 replication. Higher led replication enlisted longer time scales, drawing on prior non-linearity, i.e. from Lap 1, producing overestimation proportionally a greater standard deviation movements. Self-paced internet interventions for gambling problems offer cost-effective, accessible, and private alternatives to traditional psychotherapy a population that rarely seeks help. However, these have been relatively slow develop, evaluate, deploy at scale relative those other addictive behaviors. Moreover, user engagement remains low despite the high interest. Motivational interviews improved effectiveness bibliotherapy but not augmented with an analogous web-based self-guided program. Sudden changes are often observed in clinical practice, yet a systematic framework to understand the underlying mechanisms is still lacking. In this article, we aim bridge gap by presenting for theoretical advancement and empirical investigation of sudden trajectories. We begin introducing features three distinct types transitions drawn from complex system research: bifurcation-induced tipping (B-tipping), noise-induced (N-tipping), rate-induced (R-tipping). Additionally, introduce distribution change (D-change), which does not experience single abrupt transition but its overall state distribution. use real-life examples illustrate how those can be connected phenomena. Finally, show why type may differ specific research questions, clearly defining interest required determining appropriate transition.
