Abstract Online qualitative surveys—those surveys that prioritise questions and interpretivist values—have rich potential for researchers, particularly in new or emerging areas of public health. However, there is limited discussion about the practical development methodological implications such surveys, health researchers. This poses challenges funders, ethics committees, peer reviewers assessing rigour robustness research, deciding appropriateness method answering different research questions. Drawing extending on work other as well our own experiences conducting online with young people adults, we describe processes associated developing implementing writing up survey data. We provide examples lessons learned question development, importance rigorous piloting strategies, use novel techniques to prompt detailed responses from participants, decisions are made data preparation interpretation. consider reviewer comments, some ethical considerations this type both participants a range strategies improve trustworthiness decision-making interpretation—including using theory. Rigorous grounded values offer unique benefits knowledge users, participants.

Abstract Pregnancy and infant loss, in the form of miscarriage, stillbirth or early neonatal death, occurs 20–25% all pregnancies. Despite its prevalence associated physical psychological impacts, there remains a lack public awareness understanding pregnancy including amongst people reproductive age. Drawing on evidence from preliminary review peer-reviewed grey literature, we make case for enhancing loss (in)fertility awareness, specifically focusing young second-level education. We situate our work within health justice frames, recognizing impact social factors people’s lives, need multi-level interventions to enable fully realize their rights goals. Although schools provide an important setting learn about discuss topics relating sexual health—including fertility—current suggests that this is not happening, despite desire engage such conversations. While are barriers addressing issues (including access teacher training, continuing professional development, appropriate engaging resource material, discomfort confidence), it developed collaboration with relevant knowledge users, themselves. This will help ensure any relevant, acceptable, feasible effective. Further research needed explore how education around fertility can be best delivered school settings.

Background This study aimed to assess the evolution, trends, and research hotspots of publications related natural killer (NK) cells miscarriage. Methods The literature on NK miscarriage was retrieved from Web Science Core Collection. VOSviewer CiteSpace were used analyze publication years, countries, institutions, journals, highly cited authors, categories, citation bursts keywords. Results A total 1,275 articles analyzed. annual outputs showed steady growth, with majority in 2020 citations 2022. number this field fluctuated 1981 2023, a slight downward trend observed. However, increased steadily until followed by minor decline. United States contributed highest had h-index. American Journal Reproductive Immunology ranked first terms biology, immunology, obstetrics gynecology most representative disciplines. Kwak-kim J, Chaouat G, Croy BA top three productive authors field. Keyword burst analysis demonstrated that immune system cytotoxicity receptors current hotspots. Conclusion is bibliometric comprehensively summarize trends advances information highlights recent frontiers emerging directions provides reference for subsequent future.

Objectives Women and men/partners who experience miscarriage often report poor care experiences within health services around the time of beyond; less is known about recurrent (RM) care. Research needed to explore potential targets for improvement, in addition identifying factors that support or hinder service improvement efforts implementation and/or sustainment desired models RM This study aimed views knowledge users regarding supports; specifically: (a) practices (b) facilitators barriers providing supports. Study design We adopted a qualitative underpinned by constructivism, incorporating semistructured interviews. Data were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis. Setting Participants recruited across Republic Ireland, perspectives from different geographical areas, hospital types services. interviewed 13 women 7 had experienced ≥2 consecutive miscarriages, 42 people involved delivery management supports, between June 2020 February 2021. Results generated three themes data: (1) dedicated staff; (2) space (3) funding support—prioritise RM. Our analysis supports need standardised, adequately resourced supported service. One which experiencing are offered appropriate, individualised, timely accessible support—beginning following first miscarriage, graded model. Implementation requires several multilevel actions, including prioritising care, resourcing services, enhancing professional education support, coordination hospitals primary improving public awareness of, addressing stigma surrounding, miscarriage. Conclusions provides context ‘good’ ‘poor’ identifies what exist affecting change healthcare broader systems. In light recent debates how best deliver changing international guidelines, this work important should be harnessed inform Ireland beyond.
