System learning from major incidents is essential for enhancing preparedness responding to future adverse events. Sharing not only stimulates further improvements, preventing the repetition of mistakes, but may also promote collaboration and adoption evidenced-based best practises. As part a qualitative interview study designed explore lessons learned, this paper describes experiences perspectives 30 staff public health agency responsible national COVID-19 response in United Kingdom. Introduction Public risk communication is intended to inform and protect the health of individuals during enteric illness outbreaks. However, there limited practical research that assesses effectiveness The aim this study was identify best practices in public outbreak investigations. Methods A scoping review five bibliographic databases gray literature conducted studies described foodborne, waterborne, or zoonotic Eligibility criteria were applied citations then full text by two independent reviewers. Data from included extracted synthesized into categories. Evidence adequacy agreement assessed used assign an overall level confidence for each practice. Results In total, 25 with most occurring North America Western Europe. Seven principles, nine practices, eight platforms identified. Of these, six four received a high rating their effectiveness. The COVID-19 pandemic presented wide-ranging leadership challenges to public health leaders and organizations. In its wake, as the necessity of reconstructing modernizing Centers for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) is considered, we reviewed reports from Commonwealth Fund CDC other leadership-focused literature identify common themes a new generation leaders. We posit that this must have ability communicate (build maintain trust accountability); forge, facilitate, promote partnerships; connect care systems; build information systems provide accessible, actionable data; engage in strategic thinking action; center equity inclusivity understand structural racism fundamental driver creator inequities; achieve resilience self-care. The International Patient Organisation for Primary Immunodeficiencies (IPOPI) held its second Global Multi-Stakeholders’ Summit, an annual stimulating and forward-thinking meeting uniting experts to anticipate pivotal upcoming challenges opportunities in the field of primary immunodeficiency (PID). 2023 summit focused on three key identified discussion points: (i) How can immunoglobulin (Ig) therapy meet future personalized patient needs? (ii) Pandemic preparedness: what’s next public health potential PID community? (iii) Diagnosing PIDs 2030: what needs happen diagnose better more? Clinician-Scientists, representatives other stakeholders explored avenues improve Ig through mechanistic insights tailored preparations/products according patient-specific local exposure infectious agents, amongst others. Urgency pandemic preparedness was discussed, as threat shortage antibiotics increasing antimicrobial resistance, emphasizing need representation patients vulnerable populations throughout crisis care management.
