Abstract Background Osteoporosis (OP) is a metabolic bone disease producing reduction in mass with consequent fragility. Circular ribonucleic acid (CircRNA) form of RNA that forms loop structure rather than linear one. CircRNA can be used for therapeutic purposes, including molecular targets or to test new therapies. Sources data A systematic search different databases July 2024 was performed define the role circRNA OP therapy. Seventeen suitable studies were identified. Areas agreement CircRNAs may useful studying processes and identify possible drug controversy The involved are regulated by many genes cytokines targeted CircRNAs. However, it not easy predict whether vitro responses studied their interaction drugs also applicable vivo. Growing points Metabolic affected gene dysregulation on various growth factors. timely developing research: Despite predictability pharmacological response vitro, such cannot expected replicated Data availability support findings this study available from corresponding author.

Abstract The present systematic review investigates whether different doses of vitamin D and calcium supplementation in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis undergoing antiresorptive therapy have an association BMD (spine, hip, femur neck), serum markers (bone-ALP, NTX, CTX), the rate pathological vertebral non-vertebral fractures, adverse events, mortality. This was conducted according to PRISMA 2020 guidelines. PubMed, Google Scholar, Embase, Scopus databases were accessed September 2024. All randomised clinical trials (RCTs) comparing two or more treatments for supplemented and/or accessed. Only studies that indicated daily Data from 37 RCTs (43,397 patients) retrieved. Patients received a mean 833.6 ± 224.0 mg 92.8 228.7 UI supplementation, respectively. length follow-up 25.8 13.3 months. age patients 66.4 5.6 years, BMI 25.2 1.6 kg/m 2 . There evidence statistically significant negative between gastrointestinal events (r = − 0.5; P 0.02) mortality 0.7; 0.03). No additional associations evidenced. In who undergo treatment osteoporosis, associated lower frequency Calcium did not any endpoints interest. Level I, RCTs.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have emerged as pivotal regulators of gene expression with diverse roles in various biological processes. In recent years, research into circRNAs’ involvement bone biology has gained significant attention, unveiling their potential novel and biomarkers bone-related disorders diseases. CircRNAs, characterized by closed-loop structure, exhibit stability resistance to degradation, underscoring functional significance. tissue, circRNAs are involved critical processes such osteogenic differentiation, osteoclastogenesis, remodeling through intricate molecular mechanisms including microRNA regulation. Dysregulated associated disorders, suggesting diagnostic prognostic biomarkers. The therapeutic targeting these holds promise for addressing conditions, offering new perspectives precision medicine. Thus, constitute integral components regulatory networks, impacting both physiological homeostasis pathological conditions. This review provides a comprehensive overview biology, emphasizing mechanisms, implications, potential.

Abstract Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients always develop osteoporosis (OP). We examined correlations of N-terminal mid-fragment osteocalcin (N-MID) and cystatin C (Cys C) levels with glycolipid metabolism, bone metabolism markers, mineral density (BMD) in elderly T2DM-OP patients. Grouping was performed as per whether T2DM developed OP (OP group) or not (N-OP group). N-MID Cys were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, indicators, BMD analyzed Pearson’s correlation coefficient. Elderly showed elevated disease duration, age, body mass index, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), Homer’s insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), total cholesterol (TC), beta-carboxy-terminal crosslinked telopeptide type 1 collagen (β-CTX), tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b (TRACP-5b), levels, reduced high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C), alkaline (B-ALP), aminoterminal propeptide I procollagen (PINP), carboxyterminal (PICP), BMD, calcium supplementation. positively correlated HbA1c, HOMA-IR, TC, β-CTX, TRACP-5b negatively HDL-C, B-ALP, PINP, PICP, Conclusively, the abnormal elevations serum associated disorder, decreased
