Background COVID-19 is associated with various symptoms and psychological involvement in the long term. In view of multifactorial triggering maintenance post-COVID syndrome, a multimodal therapy somatomedical psychotherapeutic content expedient. This paper compares stress patients their course rehabilitation to psychosomatic psychocardiological patients. Method Observational study control-groups clinical, standardized examination: testing (BDI-II, HELATH-49), 6-MWT as somatic parameter, two measurement points (admission, discharge). Sample characteristics, including work related parameters, general symptom-load during are evaluated. Results At admission all measures were significantly affected, but less pronounced than or (BDI-II = 19.29 ± 9.03, BDI-II 28.93 12.66, psychocardiology 24.47 10.02). During rehabilitation, complaint domains sub-groups, symptom severity was reduced (effect sizes ranging from d .34 1.22). Medium positive effects seen on self-efficacy ( .69) large activity participation 1.06) 6-MWT, walking distance improved by an average 76.43 63.58 meters Not single patient deteriorated distance, which would have been possible sign post exercise malaise (PEM). Conclusion Post-COVID slighter burden Although not curative, benefit interventions there no signs PEM.

Abstract Background The post-COVID-19 condition describes the persistence or onset of somatic symptoms (e.g. fatigue) after acute COVID-19. Based on an existing cognitive-behavioral treatment protocol, we developed a specialized group intervention for individuals with condition. present study examines feasibility, acceptance, and effectiveness program inpatients in neurological rehabilitation setting. Methods comprises eight sessions includes psychoeducational experience-based interventions common psychophysiological mechanisms persistent symptoms. A feasibility trial was conducted using one-group design naturalistic N = 64 history mild COVID-19 that fulfilled WHO criteria were enrolled. After each session, evaluation forms completed psychometric questionnaires psychopathological symptom burden collected pre- post-intervention. Results well received by participants therapists. Each session rated as comprehensible overall satisfaction high. Pre-post effect sizes (of standard incl. new program; intention-to-treat) showed significantly reduced subjective fatigue ( p < 0.05, d av 0.33) improved disease coping ps 0.33–0.49). Conclusions Our results support acceptance newly Yet, findings have to be interpreted cautiously due lack control follow-up measurement, small sample size, relatively high drop-out rate.

Post COVID-19 condition (PCC) is increasingly recognized as a debilitating characterized by persistent symptoms following SARS-CoV-2 infection. Neuropsychological deficits, including cognitive impairments and fatigue, are prevalent in individuals with PCC. The PoCoRe study aimed to evaluate the burden of neuropsychological deficits PCC patients undergoing multidisciplinary indoor rehabilitation describe possible changes this symptomatology. study, prospective, non-randomized, controlled longitudinal recruited from six German centers. Eligible participants underwent comprehensive assessments at admission discharge. Various measures were employed, fatigue scale for motor functioning cognition (FSMC), Test Battery Attention (TAP) Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). Out 1,086 participants, total N = 701 included main data analysis. prevalence on was high (84.6%) decreased significantly discharge (77.4%), mild effect size. Abstract The Post COVID-19 condition (PCC) is a complex disease affecting health and everyday functioning. This well reflected by patient’s inability to work (ITW). In this study, we aimed investigate factors associated with ITW (1) design machine learning-based model for predicting (2) twelve months after baseline. We selected patients from the post COVID care study (PCC-study) data on their ability work. To identify ITW, compared PCC without ITW. For constructing predictive model, nine clinical parameters: hospitalization during acute SARS-CoV-2 infection, WHO severity of presence somatic comorbidities, psychiatric age, height, weight, Karnofsky index, symptoms. was trained predict baseline using TensorFlow Decision Forests. Its performance investigated cross-validation an independent testing dataset. total, 259 were included in analysis. observed that dyslipidemia, worse patient reported outcomes (FSS, WHOQOL-BREF, PHQ-9), higher rate preexisting conditions, more extensive medical work-up. exhibited mean AUC 0.83 (95% CI: 0.78; 0.88) 10-fold cross-validation. dataset, 0.76 0.58; 0.93). conclusion, identified several performed very well. Vermeidung körperlicher Aktivität steht erhöhten Anzahl an AU-Tagen Verbindung.

Abstract Background A high number of individuals report suffering from physical and psychological sequelae symptoms after COVID-19—the so-called post COVID-19 condition. Commonly reported complaints include such as fatigue, headache, attention concentration deficits or dyspnea anxiety, post-traumatic stress, depression. Evidence-based treatment recommendations are still lacking up to this point. Associations between in chronic diseases known for a long time. Support coping with the disease improvement self-efficacy can have positive effect on course diseases. For reason, we designed randomized, controlled explorative intervention trial bodily distress disorder recovered persons. Methods Patients condition meeting criteria WHO, along disorder, randomized an control arm (TAU). Randomization takes place diagnostic interview, screening, informed consent. In total, 60 patients will be included (30 per group). The group receives cognitive behavioral therapy video-conference-based (6 weeks) mobile, respiratory biofeedback (for 4 weeks). At several time points, both groups assessed terms health status, expectation, satisfaction intervention. Furthermore, they get examination appointments. primary outcome is change self-efficacy; secondary outcomes parameters mental health, somatic symptoms, Data analyzed primarily using R SPSS.
