Background:
Thailand
has
a
substantial
elderly
population,
around
one-sixth
of
its
total
populace,
and
ranks
second
among
ASEAN
countries.

Loneliness
is
a
construct
that
has
increasingly
been
studied
over
the
last
decades.
Although
many
people
experience
loneliness
at
some
point
in
their
lives
without
severe
consequences,
vast
body
of
empirical
work
shown
detrimental
effects
loneliness,
suggesting
affects
psychological
well-being
(e.g.,
depression,
anxiety,
lower
self-esteem)
as
well
physical
health
cardiovascular
disease),
and
even
early
mortality.
Recent
theoretical
suggested
duration
might
explain
why
be
beneficial
for
but
destructive
others.
Specifically,
short-term
result
increased
attempts
to
regain
social
connection
therefore
serve
an
adaptive
function,
whereas
long-term
maladaptive
outcomes.
With

review,
we

Loneliness
