Adolescent students’ meaning in life is an important topic of research positive psychology and educational psychology. Network modeling has been suggested as an effective approach to uncover intricate relationships among emotional states and their underlying symptoms. This study aimed explore the dynamic interactions between subjective well-being (SWB) depressive symptoms over time, using cross-sectional cross-lagged network analysis. Data were drawn from three waves (2016, 2018, 2020) of China Family Panel Studies (CFPS), including 13,409 participants aged 16 above. SWB was measured through indicators like life satisfaction future confidence, while assessed CES-D8 scale. Symptom-level analyzed via analysis at each wave, panel employed examine temporal dynamics bidirectional The symptom showed that number non-zero edges T1, T2, T3 50, 44, 49, respectively, with densities 0.90, 0.80, 0.89. core "feeling sad" (D7) consistently had a significantly higher strength than other negative correlation "life satisfaction" (Z2) particularly evident T3. revealed key roles lonely" (D5) (D7), well unhappy" (D4) "not enjoying life" (D6) across different time periods, which may form feedback loop.
