This article examines the relationship between environmental income dependence and household vulnerability in rural settings. Using household-level livelihood data from Poverty Environment Network (PEN) dataset of Nepal, we construct a index analyze its with dependence, measured as share total income, while controlling for other variables. The findings reveal that higher significantly increases vulnerability. In contrast, debt helps mitigate by providing financial support enabling productive investments. However, high dependency ratios exposure to shocks exacerbate limiting generation destabilizing livelihoods. Policy measures such promoting economic diversification social safety net programs could reduce Nepal. Furthermore, timely access credit during hardships addressing unforeseen enhance resilience.

Despite the many fatalities and injuries, Bangladesh lacks holistic individual flood preparedness studies. This study evaluates in flood-prone rural region of Dowarabazar Upazila, Sunamganj District, Bangladesh. The field survey had 596 respondents. As required, we implemented Spearman's rank correlation multiple linear regression. Flooding affected population, which made people feel extremely unsafe. Most respondents warned that floods might affect their homes. Many participants reported receiving flood-related information from locals. not being notified forecasts warnings area. majority indicated they sought refuge shelters. A significant portion were unaware preparedness. Loss minimization adaptability are deficiencies. Concerning preparedness, gender, age, occupation, monthly income, sources house type all determinants. According to research, females less prepared for flooding than males. Individuals with pucca housing better equipped those unsafe (kacha). Authorities should thus take these factors into account while enhancing In addition implementing measures such as improving livelihood patterns conducting educational campaigns, it is imperative construct

Owing to its geographical location, Bangladesh is highly exposed natural disasters: the northern part at risk of floods, while southern suffers from cyclones, storm surges, and salinity intrusion. This study aims quantify exposure cyclones in Taltali, a coastal upazila Bangladesh. To exposure, used 6 criteria, including elevation, slope, proximity major water bodies, population density, cyclone tracks land use cover, produced maps focusing on each criterion. The overall map was also created observe whole scenario upazila. All analysis done GIS environment using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. individual criterion represents status area different classes. And revealed that about 60 % quantified as very 4 unions- Barabagi, Chhota Bagi, Karaibaria, Pancha Koralia Rakhain paras- Monukhe, Momeshi, Agathakur, Saton, Sawdagar. In numerical terms, 8032 ha 178 are counted moderately respectively. Among seven unions, maximum Barabagi Bagi found be exposed, followed by Panchakoralia Karaibaria. Data our previous validated results this study. Despite having some limitations, can develop capacity community respond cyclones. national international communities formulate policies regarding disaster reduction mitigation.
