Oculomics is an emerging field that leverages ophthalmic imaging data to identify biomarkers of systemic disease, facilitating early diagnosis and risk stratification. Despite its growing recognition, gaps remain in the literature regarding clinical applications oculomics. Various diseases-including metabolic disorders (e.g., diabetes mellitus), infectious diseases COVID-19), neurodegenerative dementia), hematologic thalassemia), autoimmune conditions rheumatoid arthritis), genetic syndromes Fabry disease)-exhibit ocular manifestations detectable through vivo confocal microscopy anterior segment optical coherence tomography, among other modalities. Increasing evidence supports role corneal identifying disease biomarkers, a process further enhanced by artificial intelligence-driven analyses. This review synthesizes current findings on their correlates, expanding oculomics translational medicine. Additionally, we explore future directions for integrating into practice biomedical research.
