Abstract Background Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) have been implicated in the aetiology of a range health outcomes, including multimorbidity. In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we aimed to identify, synthesise, quantify current evidence linking ACEs Methods We searched seven databases from inception 20 July 2023: APA PsycNET, CINAHL Plus, Cochrane CENTRAL, Embase, MEDLINE, Scopus, Web Science. selected studies investigating adverse events occurring during (< 18 years) an assessment multimorbidity adulthood (≥ years). Studies that only assessed or outcomes children were excluded. Risk bias was using ROBINS-E tool. Meta-analysis prevalence dose–response meta-analysis methods used for quantitative data synthesis. This pre-registered with PROSPERO (CRD42023389528). Results From 15,586 records, 25 eligible inclusion (total participants = 372,162). The exposure ≥ 1 48.1% (95% CI 33.4 63.1%). 34.5% 23.4 47.5%). Purpose The NHS long-term plan outlined that mental health services in the UK will be based on trauma-informed approach next 10 years. Staff leadership roles those face a responsibility to lead implementation of TIC; however, little is known about experiences these staff attempting create change. Therefore, this study aims gain an understanding (MHS)’s implementing care (TIC) NHS. Design/methodology/approach In total, 14 (MHS), comprising ten psychologists and four multidisciplinary clinicians, were recruited through purposive snowball sampling. Semi-structured individual interviews conducted via Microsoft Teams provide qualitative data. Interviews transcribed verbatim analysed using Braun Clarke’s (2006) reflexive thematic analysis. Findings Five themes found: 1) having visionary outlook high expectations for change, 2) professional growth personal development, 3) affirmation role’s importance impact, 4) psychological discomfort 5) ways coping. Participants strongly believed TIC should standard practice all health-care staff, noting led their growth. While they found satisfaction influencing others value TIC, experienced negative emotions when efforts unsuccessful used various strategies overcome barriers manage discomfort. This chapter examines Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Protective and Compensatory (PACEs), their management in school counseling. Research highlights ACEs' detrimental effects on development, emphasizing the need for PACEs to mitigate these impacts. School counselors play a vital role during 0-18 developmental period, primarily shaped by home environments. Integrating technology into counseling addresses gaps like fragmented records across educational phases enhances ACEs identification intervention. The serves as guide counselors, educators, parents, communities collaboratively support schools providing services attuned PACEs.
