Abstract Aerobiological analyses allow us to evaluate air quality, if we live in a city like Mexico City, it is common link with industrial, commercial and vehicle use activities, among others, this fact of such importance, since poor quality can cause wide variety respiratory diseases depending on the time exposure. The present work focused carrying out an aerobiological study six sites sampled at UAM-Azcapotzalco. A total 547 bacterial colonies 297 fungal were found. maximum averages obtained for bacteria dining room (22 UFC/m 3 ) football field (48.75 CFU/m ), while fungi highest concentrations recorded (11.25 library (20.22 areas. Analysis Variance showed that there are no significant differences open closed (p = 0.023), however geospatial analysis helped determine areas density microorganisms. constant monitoring bioaerosols, places high attendance people, contributes generation strategies minimize risks human health, avoiding highly contagious diseases, as pandemic derived from SARS-CoV-2, others. Finally, microenvironmental conditions growth microorganisms, suggest implementation vegetal covers natural surfaces inside outside centers, well improvements bio architecture, which would safe work.

Industrial fires at facilities including waste management sites, warehouses, factories, chemical works, and fuel storage depots are relatively frequent occurrences. Often, these occur adjacent to urban communities result in ground-level airborne pollutant concentrations that well above guideline values. Land, water, livestock, crops may also be contaminated by the emissions firefighting activities. Moreover, impacted tend have a higher proportion of minority ethnic populations as individuals with underlying health vulnerabilities those lower socio-economic status. Nevertheless, this is an aspect air quality under-researched, so review aims highlight public hazards associated industrial need for effective, coordinated, response. We range monitoring techniques been utilised such role dispersion modelling predicting plume trajectories estimating population exposure. recommend establishing 1 h values particulate matter facilitate timely interventions, we regulatory technical controls sites prone fires, particularly sector.

Indoor air quality (IAQ) significantly impacts human health, particularly in enclosed spaces where people spend most of their time. This study evaluates the performance low-cost IAQ sensors, focusing on ability to measure carbon dioxide (CO2) and particulate matter (PM) under real-world conditions. Measurements provided by these sensors were verified against calibrated reference equipment. The utilized two commercial devices from inBiot Kaiterra, comparing outputs a sensor across range CO2 concentrations (500–1200 ppm) environmental conditions (21–25 °C, 27–92% RH). Data analyzed for relative error, temporal stability, reproducibility. Results indicate strong correlation between (LCSs) at lower concentrations, with minor deviations higher levels. Environmental had minimal impact performance, highlighting robustness temperature humidity within tested ranges. For PM measurements, effectively tracked trends, but inaccuracies increased particle concentration. Overall, findings support feasibility using non-critical monitoring, offering an affordable alternative tracking trends. Additionally, LCSs can assess long-term exposure contaminants, providing insights into potential health risks useful information non-expert users.

Brake testing of vehicles is one the most important tests performed in technical–mechanical overhaul workshops (TMOWs). During this test, fine and ultrafine particles are emitted, exposing workers to health risks. A mixed descriptive observational study was conducted 10 TMOWs Armenia (Colombia), where particle sampling using NIOSH 0600 method. One third samples were sent for SEM analysis determine their chemical composition size. The average occupational exposure 24.31 mg/m3, almost times higher than threshold limit value particles. range sizes from 1.12 54.33 µm, with an arithmetic mean 14.89 µm. size ranged 198 nm 798 nm. Traces components refractory materials, fiberglass, wollastonite, thermoplastics, among others, typical brake pads, found. This research allows us confirm presence TMOW tests. Therefore, we recommend improvement actions based on epidemiological surveillance programs respiratory workers.

This study aims to investigate the relationships between living and neighborhood environmental factors anxiety symptoms among older adults residing in urban rural areas of Anhui Province, China. Data were collected from 5876 participants a cross-sectional carried out four cities located Anhui, Anxiety evaluated via Generalized Disorder scale (GAD-7), with scores 5 above defined as having symptoms. The presence dust noise context daily life was used evaluate environment participants. assessed by availability barrier-free facilities, proximity facilities (supermarkets, restaurants, hospitals, parks), green blue space near participants' dwellings. Multilevel linear logistic regression analyses estimate associations these who lived dusty environments had elevated GAD-7 higher odds (dust: β = 0.754, 95% CI: 0.337, 1.171; OR 1.451, 1.164, 1.809). Having existence neighboring park decreased likelihood (barrier-free facilities: β=-0.503, -0.992, -0.085; 0.768, 0.656, 0.899; park: β=-0.478, -0.830, -0.125; 0.599, 0.440, 0.816). However, close hospital presented an increased experiencing (OR 1.377, 1.162, 1.631). Participants noisy more likely suffer anxiety, whereas those parks at lower risk. findings emphasize need for targeted interventions create age-friendly communities, suggesting integrated approach that combines health strategies mental adults.

Abstract Understanding how the environment shapes our mental and cognitive health is imperative to support efforts that promote healthy sustainable living conditions. The etiology of conditions remains often unclear, social factors have received more scrutiny than natural or built environments. We present a conceptual framework illustrating emerging intersection between neuropsychological health, intended structure guide research funding, as well public environmental initiatives. conducted scoping review reviews existing evidence on impacts health. found an extensive body work was focused chemical hazards their associations with neurological including attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, dementia, mood. identified areas intersecting such air, water, light, green space schizophrenia behavioral Our analysis intersections allows for identification knowledge clusters gaps, contextualizing needs opportunities future funding strategies. These significant connections showcase importance understanding relationships With this work, we assert protection its integration into healthcare can bring cascading benefits synergies well‐being address economic burden crises.
