Abstract The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) provides a foundational framework maritime education training (MET). However, variations in its interpretation across different nations institutions lead to diverse teaching practices strategies. This diversity stems from differences national regulations, resources, cultures, the perspectives instructors. study introduces concept map scaffold key concepts influencing simulator-based education. By examining both system student factors, offers insights into these various factors through observations sessions discussions with educators students. tool can help identify highlight good practices. It is valuable resource stakeholders, promoting novel approach developing an effective, comprehensive, coherent

Abstract Collaborative learning in high-fidelity simulators is an important part of how master mariner students are preparing for their future career at sea, becoming a ship’s bridge team. This study aims to inform the design intelligent system be used providing adaptive feedback engaged collaborative activities simulators. Through ethnographic approach, we basing or analysis on video records everyday training practices simulator center Scandinavia. Findings show delivery simulation consist recurring, multilayered, and multimodal cycles. These cycles instructors’ close monitoring students' actions continuously assess fit between objectives ongoing task, provide that draws rich semiotic resources simulated environment while considering aspects realism authenticity importance professional learning. Considering multilayered nature contexts, as well role-playing character simulator-based maritime training, our results highlight taking analytics approach gather data collaboratively engage with tasks have potential scaffold trajectories.
