Abstract This study aimed to explore the relative biological effectiveness (RBE) of monoenergetic neutrons and interactions mixed radiation by investigating effects neutron, 137Cs γ-ray, neutron–γ-ray radiations on chromosomal aberrations in human peripheral blood lymphocytes. Human lymphocytes were treated with from Intensive Deuterium Tritium Neutron Source Science Facility a gamma source γ-ray Chinese Academy Sciences for follow-up experimental results. The analyzed exposed radiations, RBE values neutron calculated. statistical distribution was tested using dispersion index Mann–Whitney Utest all doses conform Poisson distribution. χ2test used compare yields dicentric centromeric rings among different groups evaluate goodness fit dose–response curve. We ztest significance equation coefficients. 10 dicentrics per 100 cells 2.8 radiation. For 20 cells, respective value 2.05. significantly increased group compared at dose 0.7 Gy. considerations dependence intercellular indispensable precise estimation effect treatment tumors.
