Mata pelajaran Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan merupakan penciri khas untuk membangun keunggulan sekolah-sekolah Muhammadiyah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi inovasi pembelajaran Al Islam di SD Muhammadiyah Suronatan Yogyakarta. Peneliti menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis tahapan reduksi data, display penyajian penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa meliputi enam yaitu konten pembelajaran, metode media pengelolaan peran guru, strategi pembelajaran. Inovasi mengemas materi resume powerpoint. berkelompok permainan. penggunaan video interaktif pemanfaatan fasilitas sekolah penempatan tempat duduk. pemberian apresiasi sanksi. guru peningkatan kualitas pelatihan serta sharing sesama guru. Temuan menekankan tentang pentingnya berbagai komponen al-Islam agar dapat berjalan efektif

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menggali respons Muhammadiyah terhadap konsep Multikulturalisme, khususnya yang termaktub dalam Risalah Islam Berkemajuan. Metode penelitian dipergunakan adalah analisis wacana dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber utama datanya sendiri tentu saja Tanfidz Keputusan Muktamar ke 48 di Surakarta terutama pada bagian Berkemajuan kemudian disingkat RIB. Langkah-langkah dilakukan peneliti melakukan inventarisasi, kategorisasi dan interpretasi data, agar mendapat kesimpulan. menguatkan bahwa sebagaimana dipahami, dilaksanakan, diperjuangkan didakwahkan oleh persyarikatan sangat akomodatif multikulturalisme, termasuk terkait prinsip-prinsip mendasar yaitu aqidah, manhaj gerakan, dakwah dipahami Muhammadiyah.
