This article reviews the research progress of all-polarization-maintaining mode-locked fiber lasers. Owing to their excellent resistance environmental interference and high stability, lasers hold significant application value in various fields, including industrial processing, communications, medical applications, military applications. provides a detailed introduction structures, working principles, performance characteristics based on different mode-locking mechanisms, such as SESAMs, two-dimensional materials, nonlinear polarization rotation, optical loop mirrors, amplifying figure-9 cavity. Additionally, this discusses challenges faced by future development directions, integration, miniaturization, multi-wavelength output, potential applications new materials.

Successful generation of ultrashort pulses in the spectral region 920 nm using Nd-doped fibers requires effectively suppressing dominant 1064 four-level transition. Utilizing a hybrid design incorporating W-shaped double-clad fiber and single-clad together with filtering out parasitic 1.06 µm beam, we developed an oscillator capable delivering at central wavelength 929 nm. Here, transferred crucial components technology from well-developed Yb-doped systems to build all-polarization-maintaining laser oscillator. The pulsed operation is obtained through passive mode-locking via nonlinear amplifying loop mirror based on 3x3 coupler. self-starting system has figure-of-8 all-normal-dispersion cavity operates dissipative soliton regime. oscillator, generating energy exceeding 1 nJ, delivers chirped 14.3 ps pulses, which can be compressed 313 fs.

This erratum corrects an error in Fig. 4 of the original publication [ Opt. Express 31 , 42136 ( 2023 ) 10.1364/OE.505449 ] caused by incorrect values vertical axis logarithmic scale. The correction does not influence conclusions article, nor it impact any parameter laser oscillator.
