A polarization-maintaining all-fiber laser source based on a nonlinear amplifying loop mirror with broadband operation (64 nm) around 1920 nm is demonstrated. The oscillator can generate 66 pJ up-chirped dissipative soliton pulses at repetition rate of 22.8 MHz high polarization extinction ratio 17 dB. By adding controller to the dispersion-compensating fiber, filter behavior be adjusted allowing for tuning emission center wavelength 1878 nm, 1907 and 1926 nm. Using an all-polarization-maintaining single-mode fiber amplifier anomalous dispersion, are amplified 0.9 nJ compressed near Fourier-limited pulse duration 170 fs peak power 4.3 kW. Such all-fiber-based sources attractive due their compact size, beam quality, good environment stability.

We demonstrate a 2.08 µm all-polarization-maintaining (PM) holmium-doped fiber oscillator using hybrid mode-locking technique with nonlinear polarization evolution (NPE) and semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM). This features linear structure dual output ports. It initiates stable single-pulse at fundamental repetition rate of 57.86 MHz, requiring only about 400 mW pump power. However, removing SESAM requires increasing the power to 2.2 W—about 5.8-fold increase—to initiate mode-locking, which starts in multi-pulse state. Additionally, can operate two distinct states by adjusting phase bias, ensuring that main port delivers high-quality, soliton-like femtosecond pulses. The other port, known as rejection emits lower-quality pulses different spectral temporal characteristics. one state, pulse quality is significantly enhanced, approaching high port. Theoretical analysis indicates strongly relies on energy distribution between orthogonally polarized PM fiber. Another advantage configuration it allows tuning range maintain operation 220 mW. ∼4 times higher than NPE-only 60 These results indicate oscillators exhibit much greater flexibility reliability those PM-NPE alone. shows potential addressing self-starting challenges inherent lasers, thereby advancing their applicability practical scenarios.
